Speaking: Do you think ecotourism is destroying the environment?

Introduction:

Way one: It is controversially debated that ecological travelling is bringing about

unbeneficial impact on the existence and growth of the living organism in the
nature. On my point of view, everythings has two sides: advantages and
disadvantages. Besides the positive effects , ecotourism also triggers harmfulness
to the environment because of the following reasons.

Way two: I think travelers go to different places for various reasons, especially for
satisfying their passion for relaxation after stressfulness at workplace. It is
inevitable that when visitors arrive at the natural destination, just only a cake
wrapping they throw onto the ground or a drinking bottles they scatter all over the
places may cause pollution to the environment. I would like to discuss both the
advantages and disadvantages of ecotourism.

Body:

To begin with, we need to figure out what ecotourism really is. Ecotourism is
when we travel to vulnerable natural places. Our impact can work toward the
environmental conservation and cultural preservation of the region, or add to the
stresses that put the region at risk.

When it comes to the positives, first of all, ecotourism connects tourists to nature.
In deed, nowadays there is a trend of teenagers holding trips to the suburbs which
are isolated from the noise and air-pollution of the city. They involve themselves to
the wilderness, take a deep breath and enjoy the fresh atmosphere. Moreover, this
is not only a chance for them to release stress but also an occasion to be more
close-knitted to their friends and build up the relationships. Secondly , ecotourism
reduces poaching and illegal animal trade. Because of the fact that wild animals
are in danger of extinction, government in general and citizens in partcular should
hold hands to protect endangered species. Tourist guides play a very important
role in popularizing and introducing the ecosystem and biodiversity as well as a
variety of animals to the individal travelers. They will be more tolerant of
disturbances from wildlife and consider hunting and abusing them for
inappropriateie purposes not to be permitted not only in Vietnam but also in other
countries throughout the world. Finally, ecotourism minimizes land exploitation
from deforestation and fossil fuels. People are wasting natural resource under
many circumstances, for instance: turning on the lights all day and forget to switch
them off when leaving the room, letting the faucet drip and realising that the whole
bathroom sinks in a big amount of water, cutting down the trees for domestic uses,
…etc. When the natural resources run out, we will definitely face the loss of lands
and woods. There will be no places for any species to accommodate. The air
becomes more and more polluted due to the lack of oxygen produced by the
[Link] disappearance of the lands caused by deforestation may also lead to the
difficulty in agricultural cultivation.

Nevertheless( = However), ecotourism still have some potential negatives. It

increases in pollution, carbon emissions and contamination to water and soil. That
voyagers throw trash unconconsciously everywhere during their journey is
unavoidable. Furthermore, overfishing and harvesting to supply food for tourists
are ringing the alarming bell about threatened animals driven to the verge of
extinction. And last but not least, ecotourism imperceptibly induces the change in
species behaviour, increasing tourist or wildlife conflict or increasing mortality of
species from roadkill,etc.

To sum up. despite ( =in spite of) a few shortcomings, I decide ecotourism has
more positve than negative impacts especially because there are more and more
backpackers participating in a lot of excursions, which makes a great contribution
the the national development of tourism. But not everything will be perfect. You
can weigh your options and take personal actions outside of the tour to balance it
out, such as independent research, donations, land acknowledgements, and buy
high-quality souvernirs.
