Air content test is typically
required for checking air-
entrained concrete in areas
where frost-related damage
can occur. Air-entraining
admixtures added to the
concrete mixture create
uniform and stable air
bubbles in the fresh
concrete. These voids will
allow water to expand during
freezing phase without
damaging the hardened
concrete. The measurement
can be performed by water-
column method (Type A to
ASTM C231) or pressure
method (Type B to ASTM
C231).

The moulds are used for preparing the specimens for the purpose of
determining the length changes (shrinkage/expansion) in hardened concrete
and hydraulic cement mortar.
Standards
ASTM-C157, C1105, ASTM C151, C452, C490, C596, C806, C1293; EN 12617-4,
12808-4
All molds surfaces are protected with anti-corrosion oil. Also all parts of the
molds are match-marked.
The molds are supplied complied with the steel inserts screwed on.
According to all standardized test methods for determining the length changes
under different conditions, the moulds are used together with the any UTEST
Length Comparators (UTC-1170) fits the specimens sizes.
UTC-1170 Large Type Digital Length Comparator can be used cement/concrete
prisms up to 100mm width Adjustable beam height (except dial gauge) is
365mm and 220mm horizontal clearance). UTC-1170 Consists of a 12.7x0.001
mm graduated digital dial gauge which is mounted on a steel frame.
Reference rod and other equipment be should ordered separately.
Length Comparator for precise measurement of length changes in 10in B
(254mm) cement, mortar, and concrete specimens, and includes an Invar
Reference Bar for exact zeroing of the dial or digital indicator. Stationary and
movable anvils fit HM-268 Gauge Studs cast into test specimens. Available
models are equipped with either a dial or digital indicator mounted on a sturdy
vertical support stand attached to a triangular base with an adjustable terminal
and collar.
Designed to test specimens up to 4x4x10in (102x102x254mm) cross-section,
but 1x1x10in (25x25x254mm) prisms are normal. Inquire for a special adapter
and shorter Invar Reference Bar if 5in (127mm) long prism samples are tested.
HM-250D with Digital Indicator is powered with two standard replaceable
lithium batteries or AC adapter, each included. The LCD digital display features
auto On/Off and can change between inch and millimeter. Its internal memory
can store user settings. The range is 0.6in (15mm).
HM-250 with Dial Indicator has a 3.625in (92mm) Dia. mechanical dial
gauge marked from 0-10, with a range of 0.4in (10mm) and gradations
of .0001in (.003mm).
