In recent years, India has been grappling with extreme weather patterns, posing
significant challenges to its agricultural sector. The temperature rise has an intense impact on
water resources, exacerbating the danger to agriculture and food security. According to a study
published in the journal Science Advances, rising temperatures entranced Indian farmers to
intensify groundwater usage for irrigation, which endangers India’s food and water security, just
when it needs to feed its population of 1.4 billion.
Our solutions are aimed at reducing the water crisis in India. But the government takes
the most important part which to is control people from overusing the water in agriculture.
According to the Indian Central Water Commission, 78% of India’s water is used in agriculture
so government control is very important.
There are already some solutions that have been recommended and have already been
tried. The government has already been increasing the citizen's awareness, which is crucial,
especially in urban areas. Informing people about the crisis is important because in solving the
problem, we need everyone to understand and know about it. United Phosphorus Limited (UPL)
has implemented water management initiatives to enhance water storage in rural India as part
of Mission Amrit Sarovar. They have increased the capacity of local ponds, lakes, and rivers by
200,000 cubic meters through the construction of new structures and the rejuvenation of
existing water bodies, particularly in aspirational districts like Narmada promoting water
sufficiency for agriculture and supporting farmers in diversifying their crops. Water conservation
is also important. Because India relies on agriculture, most of the water is used in farming. But
with not much water left, the governments have been encouraging the citizens to plant crops
that need less water, or fixing water systems for leakage.
The next concern is its duration. If the Indian government effectively implements this
solution, the water crisis in India will reduce significantly. Given that nearly all fresh water in
India is consumed by agriculture, even a minor decrease will amount to a substantial volume of
water.
Providing clean water with our solutions will make fresh and clean water accessible to
everyone across India. Then, everyone will have a happier and safer life. The truth is that
student attendance at schools and student absences will decrease significantly, and the future
of this country will be more prosperous. In addition, our success can be demonstrated when the
mobility of people in this country decreases rapidly within 2 years and the percentage of GDP
and HPI will increase. Hopefully, the water crisis will no longer be a problem in this country since
the improvement of solid farm technology.
