Dear: Chonnam university, Korean language department,

My name is: Hoang Van Truong

I was born in a normal family in the suburbs of Hanoi city

Currently, I'm a freshman in the psychology department at Labor and Social Affairs 2 university.

Being raised in a family with aunts all studying and graduating from universities in Korea, 1 aunt is
married to a Korean and is doing business in Seoul.

I am conscious that the future trend to connecting and developing the relationship between Viet Nam
and Korea is getting closer and closer

Therefore , when I'm to be a freshman, I made up my mind that I will study the Korean language and
major in Korea.

Being introduced to Chonnam national university by my aunt, I was looking for information’s Chonnam
University and know that the school has a position of strength in multi-disciplinary teaching. Therefore I
made decided to enroll at the university. To prepare for this plan, I'm learning Korean.

The reason I select to study abroad:

-Studying abroad is a way to gather experience and challenge yourself, when I step out of my comfort
zone and challenge my limits.

-learning a new language and trying to live in a new country is such as being reborn and living a different
life than before.

specialization in one area in psychology has not been focused on and invested in my nation, so studying
abroad in a developing nation is crucial. This is way to ensure my own development and concurrently, I
might experience the new world myself never has.

The reason for selecting Korea as a place to study abroad instead of VietNam and other places in the
whole world:

-was influenced by my family itself when the number of people in the family selected the path to study
abroad and work in Korea.

-because Korea has amount of cultural similarities with my nation

- being admire the way’s Korea development after the war

-facilities and opportunities to look for work in Korea are better than in Vietnam.

-Korea invests in a better education system than Vietnam

-psychology in Korea is more focused and developed than in Vietnam.

The reason for selecting psychology in Korea

Currently, Korea is one of the countries with a high demand for top psychology. Therefore this is one
receives great investment and attention from the mechanism government and the businesses. This is
the reason why curriculum and facilities of major have invested a lot. This is what I wanted when I make
up my mind to study abroad, so of course, Korea is the destination that I was aiming for.

- the demand for human resources in psychology in Korea is always at a high level because psychology
cannot only apply to a few majors but also it appears in many professions in life. therefore, the salary
that businesses, as well as organizations for graduates of this major, is among the top.

Why I decided to attend chonnam university:

-in the process of information about the chonnam university. I was known that Chonnam university is
one of the first national universities in Korea with high quality of education and facilities. At the same
time, majors in research are also given to draw attention to chonnam university.

- Chonnam university is one of the universities with tuition fees that could be said to be quite cheap,
furthermore, the university has a number of types of scholarships appropriate for international
students. To be known this semester tuition reduction based on academic results of the previous
semester.

-the last reason why I want to study at the Chonnam university is that the professor and doctors, who
teach here are also people with teaching experience and extensive knowledge when the school has a
history of teaching for 70 years.

What I have prepared for studying in Korea:

-Prepare an amount of 10000 USD to pay tuition fees as well as living expenses in Korea

-take an extra Korean class to prepare for the interview to take a visa.

-prepare a necessary document to prepare for studying abroad.

Here is my plan to study in Korea:

This is my plan and direction :

-1 register for the language program at the university, I have a goal of getting topik 5 in the first
year( after 4 semesters)

-I will study Korean hard, interact with teachers and the other students in class at school,

-register to volunteer programs for cultural exchange.

2. college plan, entrance exam

Next goal: I will enroll in university with the following plan:

A first-year:

Thoroughly study social subjects,

-overtime is expected to be 4 hours a day according to the government's own regulations.

-participate in cultural exchange programs, volunteer programs, and social activities.

-average scoreboard goal: getting A scores in all subjects

B, year 2: I study sociology, read and research documents about my major.

Till working part-time, exploring culture, improving language in Korea

C, year 3: I devoted myself to majoring in

- I plan to pursue a career in psychotherapy, at the same time I am also very interested in criminal
psychology so I will consider it as a sub-branch where I can develop myself.

-Continue to participate in extracurricular activities and social volunteering.

- foster more specialized knowledge

Year 4, focus on advanced studies to graduate.

I realized, to be able to apply the field of study in practice, I need to:

- gain more practical knowledge from observation

- refer, read more related documents

-Participate in internships at a number of specialized agencies

Aim to graduate with an A, I believe and I can do it
