 Chú ý khi chia động từ:

1. Với động từ tận cùng là chữ “e” thì bỏ “e” rồi thêm “-ing”.
 leave – leaving

 ride – riding

 come – coming

2. Với động từ tận cùng là chữ “ie” thì “ie” -> “y” rồi thêm “-
ing”.
 lie – lying

 die – dying
 3. Khi động từ có một âm tiết, tận cùng là phụ âm, trước là
nguyên âm, thì nhân đôi phụ âm cuối rồi thêm “-ing”.
 stop – stopping

 get – getting

 put – putting

II. Dấu hiệu nhận biết

Trong câu xuất hiện các

1. Trạng từ chỉ thời gian: now, right now, at the moment, at present

VD: She is talking right now (Cô ấy đang nói chuyện)

2. Các cụm từ chỉ thời gian xung quanh thời điểm nói: these days (những
ngày gần đây), this week/ month

VD: The price of fruits is getting higher these days. (Giá hoa quả đang
tăng cao vào những ngày gần đây)

3. Các động từ, mệnh lệnh ngắn: Look! Watch out! Be careful! Be quiet!
Keep silent!

VD: Be quiet! The singer is singing ( Trật tự đi! Ca sĩ đang hát kìa)

III. Cách dùng

Cách dùng Ví dụ
1 Diễn tả một hành động/ sự việc He is reading comic (Anh ấy đang
đang xảy ra ngay tại thời điểm đọc truyện tranh )
