MatuTuro: A Web-Based Tutor Finder System for Bulacan State University. Following the Data
Collection Methods are explained, including the data Analysis Techniques mixed-method
studies may combine both approaches. The chapter also covers the population and sample
system evaluation criteria, ethical considerations, and potential limitations of the study.

component is centered around the ISO 25010 Software Quality Model, which provides a
systematic approach to measuring software quality across several dimensions: Functionality,
Reliability, Usability, Performance Efficiency, Security, Compatibility, and Maintainability
Scalability. then include the applied research that divides the development system method. The
Matuturo web-based tutor finder system focuses on solving problem tangible issues, by
improving the system and students' access to tutors and then streamlining. the research aims
that produce immediate, applicable outcomes. With the help of quantitative methods, I
specifically structured questionnaires and surveys to collect insights on system usability, and
overall impact. The structured questionnaires will allow the gathering of consistent, measurable
data, user satisfaction, and the impact of the Matuturo system.
Applied Research
Adopting an applied research method is essential for achieving the study’s primary
objective: developing MatuTuro, a web-based tutor finder system that directly addresses the
challenges faced by students at Bulacan State University when it comes to finding suitable
tutors for their needs. Through applied research, the researchers can focus on creating a
real-world solution tailored to meet the specific needs of users, such as easily connecting
students with qualified tutors based on academic requirements, budget, and scheduling
preferences. This method enables the researchers to design, implement, and refine a functional
system that integrates features like matching the students to their desired tutors, a user-friendly
interface, log-in and register system, all aimed at making tutoring more accessible, safe, and
efficient for the College of Science.
The study will follow a structured system development method to guide the design and
development of the system. Agile methodology is suitable for developing tutor-finding systems.
Through regular feedback with the Agile model, it can enable continuous improvements for the
system which is essential for creating the platform. The adaptability of Agile would help the
researchers respond to the new requirements and issues of the system. Through Agile, the
researchers can improve the system progressively through feedback and can tailor the system
to the needs of the user.
Applied research is beneficial here because the study seeks not only to explore
theoretical possibilities but also to implement and test an operational tutor-finding system. By
focusing on solving tangible issues, such as improving students' access to tutors and
streamlining the tutor-matching process, the research aims to produce immediate, applicable
outcomes. The findings can serve as a valuable reference for bridging theoretical research with
practical application, immediate educational support solutions, and wider implementation.
Quantitative Research
Quantitative research will allow the researchers to objectively assess the quality of
MatuTuro by evaluating specific metrics under the ISO/IEC 25010 framework. This method
aligns with the structured and measurable qualities essential for software evaluation, ensuring
that the researchers gather precise data to assess how well the platform meets user
expectations and technical standards. The quantitative research method is ideal for measuring
and analyzing the acceptability of the "MatuTuro" tutor finder system by applying the ISO/IEC
25010 standards.
With the help of quantitative methods, specifically surveys and structured questionnaires,
to collect insights on system usability, user satisfaction, and overall impact, the researchers will
be able to gather data to assess the acceptability of the system according to the key
components of the ISO/IEC 25010 standard, which evaluates software quality through metrics

standard encompasses key attributes such as usability, reliability, and performance efficiency, all
essential for an effective and user-friendly platform.
The system evaluation process for MatuTuro will involve creating an evaluation instrument
tailored to measure these qualities within the specific context of a tutor-matching system. By
determining a representative population and sample, designing data collection procedures, and
implementing appropriate data analysis techniques, this study aims to provide a comprehensive
assessment of MatuTuro’s effectiveness in facilitating successful tutor-student matches.
Evaluation Instrument
The evaluation instrument for the MatuTuro Tutor Finder system will be a structured
questionnaire developed to assess the platform's acceptability among students and tutors at
Bulacan State University. This instrument will be based on the ISO/IEC 25010 quality model,
focusing on essential software quality attributes such as usability, reliability, and performance
efficiency. The questionnaire will include a series of targeted questions that measure each
attribute.
Functional Suitability focuses on ensuring that the core features such as tutor search are
available, accurate, and aligned with users’ needs. The system should efficiently connect
students with tutors based on criteria like subject and course, ensuring that it meets users'
expectations and fulfills the primary purpose of tutor-student matching.
Performance Efficiency will assess the platform’s response time, resource use, and capacity
to manage high traffic during peak academic periods, such as exam season. This
evaluation ensures that students and tutors experience quick, efficient access even under
high demand, maintaining smooth operations and responsive search and booking
functionalities.
Interaction Capability, the system’s ease of use, learnability, error prevention, and user
support will be measured to ensure that all users can navigate and utilize the platform
without issues. This includes clear, intuitive design, effective error prevention mechanisms,
and inclusive features that make it accessible to all users, including those with varying
technical skills.
Reliability of MatuTuro Tutor Finder will be tested for continuous uptime, fault tolerance,
and the ability to recover from unexpected issues. This assessment will help ensure that
students and tutors can rely on the platform for uninterrupted access and minimal
downtime, especially when sessions or critical interactions are scheduled.
Security, the platform needs robust safeguards for user data confidentiality, integrity, and
authenticity. Protecting personal data, secure login processes, and a resilient system
against cyber threats are essential to building user trust. Evaluating security ensures that
users feel confident in the platform’s ability to protect their information.
Maintainability will focus on the ease of updating the platform, diagnosing issues, and
implementing changes without significant downtime. This includes assessing the modularity
of the system, enabling updates and improvements based on user feedback or new
requirements, while ensuring continuity in user experience.

more users or potentially expands to other institutions or regions. This ensures that
MatuTuro Tutor Finder can continue to perform well as user demand increases or new
functionalities are added to meet future needs.
Safety involves identifying and addressing potential risks associated with online tutoring,
including data protection, ethical standards, and operational constraints. This ensures that
the platform operates within secure boundaries, minimizing risks to users and maintaining a
safe environment for all participants.
System Development Methodology
The Information technology industry is a past faced industry that needs to deliver a product
within a short period of time. Due to globalization, Agile methodology became one of the
methods that became indemand to use. According to Waja, Shah, and Nanavati (2021), Agile
methodology aims to deliver the properties of software in a short period of time with small steps
or segments. It uses iterations to deliver the features. Moreover, it also enhances the flexibility
of software development. The system will use agile methodology, which is suitable and more
flexible to use for the system.
The agile model (see in figure 1) will be use to develop the system with the use of planning,
requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintainance

Planning
In the planning stage, the researchers will identify the goals and objections of the system, it
involves the audience of the system, the functionalities and the features. Additionally it includes
the project plan, timeline and the consultation.

In the phase 1 of the gantt chart, the researchers provide a topic individuality to have a better
understanding of the possible research topic. In the topic presentation, the researcher presents
their individual topic. Afterwards, there will be a formation of a group and the researcher begins
to write chapter 1. Moreover, a revision of topic is needed to revise some errors in the chapter 1
For the system, there will be a UI planning, for the creating the user interface. A UI Frontend
development stage for the creation of the Frontend part of the system. Furthermore, The next
part of the phase is the creation of Chapter 2, which includes the review of related literature.
Additionally, there will be a UI backend development for the creation of the database, server and
logic. Model training and requirement analysis is also needed to identify the needs and
expectations of the stakeholders.
In phase 2, it consists of chapter 3, which includes the research methodology. The next part is
chapter 4. It discusses the data and the results of the data gathering. Moreover, the last part of
the paper is chapter 5. Which is to discuss the conclusions of the research paper and the
recommendation for the some improvements needed in the research and the system.
Furthermore, there will be a testing and revision for the system and thesis revisions for some
part of the paper needed to revise. Lastly, the researcher will deploy the system to be able to
use by the students and tutors.
Requirements Analysis
In the requirement analysis stage. The researcher will gather information for the system
requirements. It involves consulting the thesis adviser and other [Link] system will
require a login credential from the user. Their username and password. Moreover, for the tutor
part, they need to show their subjects needs to teach and their availability.

A regular user will need to register to be able to use the system. The information collected from
the login form will be stored in the database then the user can use the information for login.
There will be a separate account for administration. After successful login, the regular user will
be able to see the tutor page and be able to use the whole system. For the administration user,
there will be an admin page after login. They can monitor or make any changes in the system.
Design
In the design stage, the researchers will define the architecture of the system. It involves the
design of the front-end part using HTML, CSS and Javascript and bootstrap. The backend part
will consist of Node js and Express js, for the database, the researchers will use mysql.
Additionally, the researcher will use xampp to facilitate the database interaction. all in all, the
goal of this stage is to deliver a system that meets the needs of the students and tutors
Development
The development phase will focus on actual coding and implementation of the system. The
researcher will follow the Agile methodologies, using iterative cycles, known as sprints. Each
sprint will focus on the development and testing of the features, such as login forms and
dashboards. These stages will be continuously reviewed and checked based on the feedback of
users and stakeholders.
The development phase will include meetings to discuss the progress, blocks and the alignment
of the project goals. The sprints will give opportunity for the researchers to assess the features if
it's still aligned on the goals of the project or system.
Moreover, the front end will be developed using html css and javascript, integrated with a
bootstrap for the appealing user interface. In addition, the researchers will use mysql as a
database for the system. Each sprint will develiver a feedback for the project.
Testing
During the testing stage, the system will undergo a comprehensive testing to check the
performance of the features and its reliability. The researchers will use unit testing, integration
testing and User acceptance testing to assess the performance of the features. Moreover, the
researcher will also perform manual testing to evaluate the user experience and to check the
errors.
Furthermore, the testing phase will focus on the system features such as login forms,
dashboards, tutor search and rating. Also, there will be performance testing to ensure that the
system can carry a large amount of data and to ensure its speed and performance. Lastly, the
system will be evaluated under the ISO/IEC/ 25019 criteria for software quality and reliability.

integrated together with the database.
The deployment will be attended by the stakeholders such as students and tutors to test the
functionality of the system. there will be a login registration and the use of the main dashboard
of the system.
Moreover, during the phase, the researchers will closely monitor the performance of the system
such as the speed, responsiveness and reliability of the system. there will be feedback from the
students ,tutors and other stakeholders. so that the researcher will identify some necessary
features that need to be changed or the bugs and other issues.
Maintenance
The maintenance phase of the system will include the continuous support and updates of the
system to ensure the efficiency, and reliability of the system. The stakeholders who will be
tasked to continue the system will be the one who will maintain the whole system. Moreover,
the regular update and bug fixing can help to maintain the reliability of the whole system.
Furthermore, with the use of Agile methodologies, the researchers will be able to maintain the
system with the use of sprint, collaboration and other agile methodologies. Lastly, Maintenance
will be able to help the performance of the system.
Population and Sample
The population of this study will consist of Students, Tutors, IT and Educational
Technology Experts. The scope of the perspective of the Students, Tutors, IT and Education
Technology Experts will be important for a more comprehensive evaluation of the system’s
acceptability.
Students: This group comprises the primary users for the tutor-finder platform who are
able to provide input for the platform’s user experience, usability, and effectiveness in achieving
academic objectives. Their feedback will be crucial for the system’s continuous improvement.
Tutors: This group includes the service providers for the platform that offer their insights
in the ease of use, matching process, administrative features, and registration. They are crucial
for their insight on understanding the platform’s functionality from a service delivery standpoint.
IT and Educational Technology Experts: This group will be crucial to assess the
system’s technical aspects such as its usability, functionality, reliability, and security according to
the ISO/IEC 25010 standard.
Data Collection Procedure
The data collection procedure for the study will involve a comprehensive and accurate
data gathering through a structured questionnaire that will be distributed to the selected sample
of Students, Tutors, IT and Educational Technology Experts in the Computer Science
Department of Bulacan State University. These questionnaires will be disseminated through
in-person distribution, and online survey platform, depending on the participants’ preference and
accessibility.
The data collection period will be set for a specific timeframe, typically for two-three
weeks, to allow the participants to complete the survey with ample time. During this time the
researchers shall give follow-up reminders to the participants to ensure that the survey will have
increased response rate. The reminder will be crucial to make sure that there is an ample
amount of data for analysis. Additionally the researchers will be available to support any
questions or issues encountered by participants while completing the survey.
Throughout the data collection procedure, the researchers will guarantee that all ethical
issues are fully respected while keeping participant’s integrity and privacy in mind. Each
participant must provide informed permission and to have clear awareness of the research goal,
methods, and their ability to withdraw at any time. To ensure each participants’ privacy, all
responses will be anonymised and kept with strict confidentiality. Furthermore data utilization will
be limited to the research purposes only, guaranteeing that the participant's information is
protected during the study process and thereafter.
Following these guidelines will help the research to compile detailed and trustworthy
data that will enable a complete evaluation of the tutor-finder platform in line with ISO/IEC
25010 requirements. This process will offer insights into the system’s performance across the
