PHILO ROLE PLAY [Group 4]
1st Scenario: The Conference
Characters:
Peter – anxious main character
Val – supportive friend of Peter
Rod – boss
Malyn – extra atm
Scene 1
[setting: Peter’s Apartment, 7 in the morning]
Narrator: With a presentation coming up, / Peter is pacing apprehensively.
Putting his suit, fixing his hair
Peter: (in a low worried voice) How am I gonna pull this off? // Am I even
capable of doing this. // What happens if I make a mistake?
[Dapat naka formal suit na before pumasok sa apartment ni Peter]
Narrator: As Valerie walks in, // she sees how upset her friend Peter is.
Valerie: (jokingly) Peter, // you seem to have woken up on the wrong side of
the bed? // (serious) You look anxious. Is everything alright?
Peter: Yeah, / It’s just that / I'm bit nervous about my presentation later. //
What happens if the boss doesn’t like it? // Or what if I stutter in front of the
meeting? // I’d make a fool out of myself.
Sits/stands beside Peter
Valerie: You've been preparing for this for weeks now. Stop thinking about it
too much and just present your work calmly and clearly. Just take a deep
breath and have faith in your abilities. Eventually, that nervousness of yours
will pass. You got this.
Peter: (uneasy) If you say so…
Scene 2
[setting: Conference room, few minutes before the presentation]
[Sabay na pumasok si peter and val sa conference room, then after pumasok si val
ay umupo na at si peter ay inaayos yung gagamitin nya for presentation. Make it
look like you’re shaking cause your boss is there watching you from the other end of
the table… conference room.]
Narrator: Peter is under pressure / as he stands in front of his co-workers /
and boss. He tries his best / not to think about the worst possible scenarios /
and just took his friends advice.
He stood straight / and sure, / took a deep breath / and begun his
presentation. // The shaking was inevitable at first / but eventually / he felt
confident / and continued the presentation like a pro.
(dapat nawawala ma yung kaba at yung expression nagbago na rin.)
Peter: In conclusion, / we’ve discussed about the importance of this
proposal. // I believe that / by implementing these strategies, / we can
maintain the betterment of the company. // I welcome any questions / or
feedback from the team. // That’s all / thank you.
End of the presentation
Rod: You’ve actually got through it, Mr. Asyao. // You outdid yourself today. //
(everyone stands up)
Rod: Alright everyone, / that’s all for today. // Everyone is dismissed.
2nd Scenario:
Characters:
Jaica – lead
Malyn – Jaica’s girlfriend
Renier – lasinggerong papa?
Irish – Jaica’s sister
(DATE SCENE)
Malyn: Love! Over here!
(Hurried towards Malyn. Pagkalapit ni Jaica, tumayo si Malyn then kiniss si Jaica,
then handed her the flowers.)
Malyn: Flowers for you!
Jaica: (Nabuhayan kaunti mukha ni Jaica) Awwe, thank you! Sorry to keep
you waiting, love. Had another quarrel with Dad. You know… nonsense blind
dates. (Shrugged)
Malyn: No worries! Besides, I just got here. Have a sit. (Inalalayan niya
umupo labidabs niya)
(Moment of silence. May naghatid ng order nilang drinks.)
Rod: Here’s your order, Ma’am. Enjoy!
(Then hindi ‘yon napansin ni Jaica, like nakatulala lang siya sa flower, and napansin
‘yon ni Malyn. While Malyn is like observing Jaica.)
Malyn: Tulala, huh? Mukhang mas malala sa mga nakaraang away niyo, am I
right?
(Then parang bumalik sa kaisipan si Jaica na kasama nga pala niya ang kanyang
labidabs.)
Jaica: Oh! I’m sorry. It’s just… I don’t know what to do anymore. I am on the
verge of telling him, but I don’t know saan at pa’no sisimulan. I’m so sick of
his “get yourself a husband or you’ll die lonely.”
Malyn: Hmm, I understand. It’s a good thing na napag-isipan mo nang
sabihin sa kanya.
Jaica: Actually… while nag-aaway kami earlier, dahil sa inis ko, I almost told
him about us. But remembering how violent he is, I immediately shut my
mouth.
Malyn: Also, I think hindi iyon ang tamang oras. Parehas kayong frustrated.
It will add fuel to the fire.
Jaica: I’ve thought so too. Do you think it’s best if I keep this secret longer?
Malyn: You do know that the more you hide our relationship, the more it will
be difficult for you. Sooner or later, you’ll have no choice but to tell him. It’s
either you tell him earlier, or he finds out himself. Hindi ba mas magiging
mahirap ‘yon for you?
Jaica: Nooo! I’d probably lose my mind if ever he finds out himself. Natatakot
ako sa kaya niyang gawin. (Then parang natakot si Jaica, nanginig and such.
Because parang nag-flashback sa kanya kung gaano ka-violent si pudrakels niya.)
Malyn: (Pinaglapitan si Jaica then pinag-hug) Shush, my love. Hindi ka niya
masasaktan. I’ll always be here no matter what.
Narrator: Malyn managed to calm down Jaica and enjoyed their date
instead. After their date, Malyn’s words echoed in Jaica’s head. Weeks passed
by, Jaica spent her days gathering strength and courage to face her father.
She realized that she lived her life being afraid without trying. Jaica kept in
her mind that she won’t be able to experience a happy life if she continues to
live in a life of secrecy.
