ABSTRACT
iii
Renewable Energy like Solar Energy is rapidly being used in standalone system and Grid-
tied
system. In every system the designing part is most important part. So in this project grid-
connected Rooftop solar PV system is designed by using System Advisor Model (SAM) &
Solar Edge Software by considering different operating condition as weather conditions,
shadow effect and tilt angle etc. By using these simulation software, it can be optimize the
sizing of PV, designing of strings/inverters, feasibility analysis and reduce the time without
visiting the site or visiting the site. The different software have different features such that
can’t be determine shadow analysis, string designing, tilt angle etc. And also in this project an
existing rooftop solar plant has re-design which is the Main Block Building of College of
Engineering Technology Bhubaneswar, by which more power can be generate in the same
space of the roof by designing the sizing of Solar PV and designing of Strings and Inverters
to the Grid.
