I’ve been hosting weddings and it’s a big help when I have a sample script as guide to help the
wedding coordinators and the couple. This article is the result of research and several scripts
posted online meant to help wedding hosts.
Before we proceed to the script, may I ask for your help? Please subscribe:

Notes:
– To all those who are expected to give their messages, kindly inform them ahead of time to
prepare a two-minute message to keep everything sweet and short. There are times when they
get carried away and extend to 15 minutes or more… and there are times when they don’t know
what to say because they were not advised ahead of time.
– Optional Raffle: at the registration table, prepare small sheets of paper where the receptionist
can write down legibly one’s full name upon arrival, roll the paper and drop into the fishbowl…
the host will pick a name for the raffle draw… usually, prizes are gift certificates… raffle draws
help excite the audience and keep them from going home, especially when big prizes are at
stake
– What are the prizes (if any) in case there are raffle draws, hashtag contests, singles games
– Optional Hashtag Contest: guests are requested to post photos on social media using the
hashtag assigned by the couple and towards the end of the reception, the couple will choose one
winner
– Best man’s toast — For the coordinators, remind the best man that for the toast he should end
with something like “let’s all stand and raise our glasses. Here’s to long life, love and happiness!
Cheers!”
