preferences of the decision maker. Making a decision implies that there are alternative

choices to be considered, and in such a case we want not only to identify as many of these

alternatives as possible but to choose the one that best fits with our goals, objectives, desires,

values, and so on.

 What is decision making?

Decision making is a process of choosing between possibilities. It is often part of

problem solving. The more complex the decision, the more factors you'll need to

consider before deciding on a course of action.

 Is there a right way to make decisions?

There might not be a single "right" way to make a decision, but there are effective decision-

making processes that can guide you towards well-informed choices. By following a

structured approach, considering all relevant factors, and acknowledging the limitations of

perfect knowledge, you can make the best decision possible within a given context.

variety of viewpoints in order to overcome personal prejudices.

 How can we get more creative decisions?

Creative decision-making is the capacity to analyse all options and handle an issue in a

new way. It can create new or better alternatives, provide a new method, or even assist in the

discovery of a new product or service for a business to offer. Balancing creative decision-

making with an analytical mindset helps us to explore all options when resolving an issue or

completing a task.

Accept each idea as one worth following up on and explore its viability. Another technique

to encourage creative decision-making is to brainstorm ideas. Brainstorming is a process of

generating as many ideas as possible without judging or evaluating them.

examines concepts of right and wrong, good and bad, and explores how these concepts apply

to our actions and decisions.

 Identifying Moral Dilemmas: Ethics helps us recognize situations where there's a

clash between different moral principles. For example, a business might face a

decision between maximizing profits and adhering to environmentally sustainable

practices. Ethics prompt us to recognize these conflicts and consider the various moral

implications before making a choice.

 Considering Consequences: An ethical approach encourages us to think beyond

immediate outcomes and consider the broader impact of our decisions. This includes

the potential effects on us, others involved, and the environment. By considering

long-term consequences, we can avoid decisions that might create unforeseen

negative impacts.

 Avoiding Bias: Ethical considerations can help us overcome biases and make choices

that are fair and just. For example, an ethical approach might involve considering

diverse viewpoints and ensuring everyone's interests are fairly represented.

 What is corporate social responsibility?

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a concept that emerged from the field of business

ethics. CSR refers to a company's commitment to operating in a way that is socially

responsible, environmentally sustainable, and economically sound.
