-­‐An  adjective  is  a  word  that  describes  a  noun.  
-­‐They  are  often  called  modifiers,  because  they  modify,  or  change,  the  meaning  of  a  noun  or  pronoun.

Articles  
-­‐The  articles  a,  an,  and  the  are  frequently  used  adjectives.  
  -­‐The  is  the  definite  article.    It  is  pointed  to  a  specific  person,  place,  or  thing.  
  -­‐A  and  an  are  indefinite  articles.    They  point  to  a  member  of  a  group  of  similar  people.  
      -­‐A  is  used  before  consonant  sounds.  
      -­‐An  is  used  before  vowel  sounds.
