Problem-Solving
I experienced a problem of lack of knowledge on the several components in the lesson plan while
planning my lesson. I resolved the problem during my field experience by starting with a big
picture of the components that should be entailed in my lesson plan. Secondly, I resolved the
problem by choosing not to rely on fluff, and I had to get creative with the resources I used
during my lessons since I have been choosing resources that failed me. Further, in my field of
experience, I resolved the conflict by relating the lesson plans I was making to real life and
getting nontraditional in my field.
Another problem that I experienced while planning lessons was setting the allocation time for
teaching and interaction with students. During my field experience, I resolved the problem by
equaling and appreciating students' teaching and social life. By this, I had to admit that teaching
alone is not enough for the well-being of the students, hence the need for setting enough time for
social interaction with the students.
Flexibility
An example of flexible teaching related to ''teaching moments'' is a rainbow my students and I
say in the sky during physical education lessons. I spontaneously accommodated my student's
needs by taking advantage of the rainbow to explain the distinctive differences in colors using
colors since many of the students had problems distinguishing colors.
Further, an example of flexible teaching related to ‘’teachable moment’’ is using students sitting
arrangements to break gender stereotypes. I spontaneously accommodated my student's needs by
interrupting them students whenever they chose sitting arrangements that reinforced stereotypes

that were going to affect them. Additionally, I accommodated their needs by showing that they
could do well in everything regardless of gender stereotypes.
APT Project Reflection
Personal Practice
In regard to my main strength and weakness during the administration, data analysis, and
instructional planning processes, I learned that I am doing well. Still, I need to improve in some
fields in order to perfect my personal practice. For example, I need to improve data analysis by
familiarizing myself with all data analysis methods. To improve my area of weakness, I need to
keep reflecting on instructional resources, interacting with other educators, and investing more
time in articles concerning data analysis.
Content and Field Experience Coherence
What I discovered about this project aligns with the principles and key concepts I have learned in
this course about phonic awareness and phonics since I understood how to identify words that
rhyme, how to count syllables in words, and how to recognize alliteration. One connection was
familiarizing myself with the significant levels of phonemic awareness such as phoneme
segmentation, blending, splitting, rhyming, comparing and contrasting, and lastly, phoneme
manipulation.
