UNLIMIT PROGRAM SCRIPT

[Introduction]

Speaker: "Good day, everyone! Thank you for joining us today in our program, *Unlimit!*. This
intervention is specially designed to help you explore the world of the Accountancy, Business, and
Management (ABM) strand.

So, what will we be doing? We're going to conduct a pre-test before we begin our program — a huge
thanks to your subject teacher for lending us a spot in the middle of their lectures — okay, so back to it!
During this program, we're going to discuss the ABM strand and to improve your awareness of it and
provide clarity on its opportunities, challenges, and benefits.

After the program, we're going to distribute post-tests to evaluate your understanding.

Don't hesitate to raise your hand after the program if you want to ask a question.

As Grade 10 students, you're at an important stage in making decisions about your future, and we’re
here to support you through that process."

As you may or may not know, ABM stands for Accountancy, Business and Management. A strand
designed to cater those who are interested in the fields of business, tourism, accountancy, marketing
and such. The choices are not limited in the corporate world!

[Academic and Career Goals]

Speaker: "Let's talk about your **academic and career goals**. As Grade 10 students, you’re preparing
to choose a senior high school strand, which will guide your future career path. We’re interested in
understanding your goals in three key areas:

Strand Preference: Are you thinking about ABM, or are you leaning toward other strands like STEM or
HUMSS?
College Course Preference: What courses are you considering in college? Business administration?
Accounting? Marketing? Nursing? Engineering? Tourism? Education? Criminology?

Future Career Aspirations: Do you see yourself as an entrepreneur, a manager, or perhaps a financial
analyst? Knowing your goals is crucial in choosing the right path.

All of those three depend on your long-term goal, your long-term goals are the objectives you aim to
achieve in the future – years ahead from now. Choosing the right strand that connects to your
aspirations is one of the first stepping stones you’ll have. You cannot just shift a strand or a course –
especially if you have a strand and course misalignment, if you take STEM and then take Accounting in
college, it’s without a doubt that you will struggle. The same can be said if you choose

[Awareness and Misconceptions about ABM]

Speaker: "Now, let’s address the heart of today’s program: your academic awareness of the ABM strand.
We’ve found that there are common misunderstandings and concerns when it comes to choosing ABM,
especially regarding:

> Career Opportunities: Many students wonder, ‘What kind of jobs can I get if I take ABM?’ Today, we will
show you the variety of career options available, from accounting to entrepreneurship, and the growing
demand for these roles in today’s economy. When you choose your academic strand, you must consider
the careers you are considering to have in the future - if you lean towards accountancy,
entrepreneurship, marketing, tourism, business administration, management or any other careers that
generally require being skillful in organizing, communication, and presentation - ABM is the strand for
you.

> Perceived Difficulty: There’s also the concern of ‘Is ABM difficult?’ We’ll clarify the realities of the ABM
curriculum and what you can expect. Many have misconceptions that ABM requires mathematical skills
in order to pass your subjects, well - ABM requires basic mathematical knowledge, the usual addition,
subtraction, multiplication, and division.

> Misunderstanding of Curriculum Difficulty: Some students may think that because ABM is business-
focused, it might be too challenging. ABM does include business management in its curriculum but the
strand also introduces the basic fundamentals of accountancy, financing, entrepreneurship, and
marketing. The strand has a vast variety of topics to introduce to students.

Understanding these key points will help you make a more informed decision about whether ABM is
right for you.

Figuring out your strand may or may not be difficult. Always consider your skills, your interests, your
personality traits — not just practicality or convenience. A strand right for you is a successful career
waiting for you.
