TASK 2

Today, positive cultures play an vital role in many families. However, the custom
having meal with family is becoming less frequent. Steaming from a wide array of
reasons, this trend brings enormous negative impacts.
There exist some reasons explaining the occurrence of this tendency. Firstly,
people nowadays may be faced with economic pressure, leading to suffering from
heavy workloads. Some people think that gathering to have meals with family is
inconvenient because of their lack of time. Accordingly, they opt for eating out
with friends or colleagues to be more suitable for their timetable. Secondly, to
satisfy the growing demands of the general public, there is the advent of fast food
in modern life. To be specific, these types of food can be found in every corner and
also may be affordable for those who earn a low wage. Therefore, fast food can
become a popular choice instead of home-cooked meals.
It is admitted that the disappearance of this tradition leads to negative influences.
First of all, there might be a weaker family bond when individuals frequently skip
meals. This is the fact that they fail to understand each other’s hardship because of
the lack of sharing, resulting in feeling isolated. Additionally, fast food can change
people’s eating habits. For instance, when teenagers do not follow a healthy diet,
they have a tendency to eat more snacks, which is deficit of nutrients. As a result,
these habits can carry potential health risks such as obesity.
To conclude, the disappearance of sharing meals in families’ tradition is mainly
caused by the hectic schedule of each family members and fast food choice, which
can have detrimental effects.

TASK 1: MAP
The illustration graphically depicts how the waterfront area in Darwin town was
transformed from 2009 to 2014.
Overall, it is obviously seen that the waterfront area experienced significant
renovation. Additionally, most of the changes took place in the South of the area.
Looking at the map more closely, after 5 years, the school, convention center,
fishing area situated in the North of the area and the swimming pool in the East of
the lake stayed unchanged. Having a closer look at the West of the lake, the
smaller industrial area was broken down to make room for a new swimming pool.
Further analysis into the map reveals that having a look at the West, a building was
constructed for university education. Moving to its east, three new residential
buildings were added which was two times higher than the number in 2009.
Travelling to its East, the swimming pool kept intact. In the South of the area, the
bigger industrial area was turned into a place to plant green trees. On the bottom
right of the area, a harbour was built and connected with the mainland by a
footpath running through the area.
