DEPARTMENTAL PROFILE- BOTANY

INTRODUCTION

The science stream of Rangia College was established in the year 1985 with a mission to spread the knowledge of science among
the students of the area. The Botany Department was established in 1985-86 with an aim to impart knowledge on the flora of the
different regions of the world and familiarize the flora of the region to the students and layman.

GOAL OF THE DEPARTMENT

Advancement, development and empowerment of the students by imparting quality education

VISION OF THE DEPARTMENT

To prepare the students to meet the challenges of modern world and to inculcate the spirit of leadership in different avenues.

8.1 Increase the infrastructural facilities The Department of Botany of Rangia College
was established in 1985. At present, the
department has 5 full-time teachers with
sanctioned posts and
4 Associate Professors & one Assistant
Professor. Out of 5,3 teachers have done
PhD. All the teachers of the department are
very much sincere and do their job with full
dedication and interest. With the stream, the
department of Botany since its inception has
maintained a healthy awareness towards
academic welfare. The faculty members also
try to establish a psychological attachment
with their students to develop their mental
awareness and very atmosphere of the class
room. The department has a mission “To
create scientific tamperament so that in future
they can aware about the nature and conserve
the valuable species and know about the
God’s natural creation as a whole with
complete scientific knowledge”.
