Set:
Students set up for band procedure (practice this! Reset if necessary)

Warm up:
Echo rhythms on mouthpieces and pads

Procedure:

5 notes up, 5 notes down (all perc on bells!)


- Students take out 5 Note Chart
- Teacher demonstrates exercise
- Give students 1 minute practice time
- All play together
- Hand out 5 Note Exercise sheet music

Page 5 #11, 12 (follow procedure for both)


- Speak rhythm
- Speak note numbers in rhythm
- Speak note numbers and do fingers!
- 1 minute practice time
- All play together

Page 5 #13
- Students fill in note NUMBERS
- Go over it as a class
- 1 minute practice time
- All play together

Page 6 #14 (if time)


- Speak rhythm
