ABSTRACT
The objective of this Process Mining Internship provides a strong foundation about Process
Mining Fundamentals and Experts which offers basic concepts of the analysis and process explorer,
case explorer, and Celonis platform, including available services and their common usecases, Process
Mining principles (at the conceptual level), processing the data.

Solution architecture forms the foundation for software development initiatives by customizing
IT solutions to meet precise business requirements and delineating their functional prerequisites and
phases of execution. It encompasses several subprocesses influenced by diverse enterprise architecture
perspectives, aiding individuals in comprehending data mining requisites and procedures. The Celonis
Platform, in this regard, furnishes the means for navigating, analyzing, and leveraging the process
explorer while facilitating data export.

In light of this, the Capstone Project proposal focuses on a case study of Pizzeria Mamma Mia.
This solution will streamline data processing at various levels, employing distinct parameters through
the utilization of tools available within the Celonis platform.

Efficient utilization of the Celonis platform enables the processing of extensive data volumes
and facilitates the extraction of insights and conclusions from the analyzed data.

About Celonis:
Celonis is the global leader in execution management. The Celonis Execution
Management System provides companies with a modern way to run their business processes
entirely on data and intelligence. We pioneered the process mining category 10 years ago when
we first developed the ability to automatically X-ray processes and find inefficiencies.

Celonis has developed software that does process mining. Process mining is a
technology that allows processes to be analysed based on data. Processes such as deliveries,
productions, or even orders can be recorded and evaluated. The aim behind this is to uncover
inefficiencies and uncover potential areas for improvement. Especially in huge companies with
cross-departmental processes, it is almost impossible to know, let alone understand, the entire
process at a certain point.

Celonis software is called an "Execution Management System". In concrete terms, this means
that digital processes are automatically recorded and mapped. This is to create a completely
objective and data-driven picture of the company's internal processes. The data for this is
usually already available in software such as SAP.

Work Samples
Capstone Project:

This project provides me with an opportunity to demonstrate the solution design skills
that I have developed throughout this course.
Assignment is to design and deploy a solution for the following case:

Pizzeria Mamma Mia

Behind every bad customer experience lies an inefficient process. Example First we had to wait
several hours and when the pizza arrived it was completely cold. Never ordering here again!
The Pizzeria Mamma Mia has been opened about a year ago and the business is generally going
well with customers praising the good quality and taste of the pizza. However, their customer
ratings have been very low, and they are making negative profits for some of their deliveries.
Following are the tasks that can be achieved by doing Pizzeria Mamma Mia:-

• Finally you can see how your processes really run. Get full transparency of your as-is
processes and explore every step and deviation to identify points of friction.
• Improve your processes one skill at a time. Automate tasks and get suggestions for
intelligent actions to ensure that you set the right priorities and run your processes in
the most efficient way.
• Track your processes with full transparency, and benefit from internal and external
process benchmarking.

Detailed View of User interface:

1. This is the starting page for the user to interact. This page contains various options like add
a section, variant explorer, process explorer, revenue analysis, other options, details, etc.
[Link] page is visible when we click on the process explorer option on the bottom of the screen:

[Link] the Revenue analysis is clicked, it reviews the orders cancelled and average cycle time:
Experts Module Work Samples :
Configure tables and Charts with Dimensions and KPI’s:
Dimension:
Dimensions are used to determine which attributes from the analysis are displayed; for
example, vendor name, customer name, date, region, or document type. Dimensions represent
the columns of the data tables (for example, Dimension = Customer name, Attribute = Acme
Bread Company).
Key Performance Indicators (KPI):
KPIs, or Key Performance Indicators, are used to calculate and add aggregated values;
for example, case count, order value, invoice value, throughput time, or automation rate. KPIs
are functions that consolidate a set of values belonging to a single occurrence inside a dimension
into one single value.

Load A Data Model :

To create a Data model follow the below steps:

1. Click on “New Data Model”

2. All the raw data tables extracted will be displayed. Select the table and click on
continue. Select the required activity table

3. Select the essential columns of the activity table and click on finish.

4. Now we have this activity table in the data model once we load the model we can
see the activities in the analyses.
Process Query Language(PQL):

The Process Query Language (PQL) is a domain-specific language tailored

towards a special process data model and designed for business [Link] enables the
user to translate process- related business questions into queries, which are then
executed on a custom-built query [Link] covers a broad set of operators, ranging
from process-specific functions to aggregations and mathematical operators. Its syntax
is inspired by SQL, but specialized for process-related queries.

Best Practices in PQL:

1. Costs associated with the functions in PQL are given in the below image.
Connect Multiple Systems:
There are two types of Connections in systems:

1. Parallel
Parallel or horizontal scenario . In this scenario, the same exact process is executed in
parallel in different systems. Companies with branches in different countries are a perfect
example of this since they often have dedicated source systems per each country they operate
in.

2. Sequential

Then there is the sequential or vertical scenario. “Sequential” refers to the fact that
different steps of a process are tracked in different source systems. For example,
information on “Activity A” is stored in “Source system 1” and information on
“Activity D” in “Source System 3”.
