deployment of PCE
 The distributed computation capability which cannot satisfy the future network development requires
an external independent system to help the control plane to finish the route computation.
 The working principle of the PCE is to split the RWA computation off from the network elements.
This process is done by a special server.
 PCE is used to calculating the wavelength optical layer path of the OTN layer and ODUk/ODUflex
electrical layer path.

 Optical and electrical multi-layer hybrid cross connection, the scheduling of the complicated MESH
network make the manual operation more difficult.
 The WASON can calculate the best route and wavelength automatically as per physical link
situations.
 In addition to implement RWA calculation, the PCE at the same time can collect and verify the optical
loss specifications.
 PCE greatly enhances the computation capability of the WASON., so it is very suitable for large-scale
networks or multi-layer multi-domain networks. It is a new stage of the intelligent control plane.

 sPCE has two layers (ODUk/OCh ) of traffic engineering database (TED). By collecting
the information of both the optical and electrical layers, it calculates the cross-layer
service path efficiently and realizes flexible scheduling of the wavelength/sub-
wavelength (ODU0/ODU1/ODU2/ODU3) services.

Load Balance

A Z

 As some paths take too much wavelength, WASON load balance service is
implemented to schedule the service path intelligently. In this way, the
resources on different paths are in balance.
Path Optimization

A Z

 Path optimization can avoid link damages caused by physical losses

 The links with the same risk in the network should have correct SRLG, so that two LSPs
of the service on different cables. Or try to strop the LSP which is generated by
rerouting the intelligent services from passing the link sharing the same risk with the
