Hand Tools Inspection
PROJECT: TILENGA UPSTREAM FACILITIES- GENERAL CIVIL WORKS
FOR OS, OSB &CPF.
HAMMER: TROWELS:
 Handles not broken and clean.  Handles not cracked and free from splinters.
 Face of head smooth and not mushroomed.  Working surface smooth.
 Wedged in place.
 Sledge, no split handles, loose or chipped heads.
 Claw good condition.
SCREW DRIVERS: SHOVELS:
 No broken handles.  Handles splinter free and secured.
 No bent / broken tips.  Shaft splinter free and not cracked.
 No rounded or twisted tips.  Edge and bowl not cracked or broken.
 Tips sharp and square.
CHISELS: SPANNERS / SHIFTING:
 Sharp cutting edge and square.  Clean.
 Heads well dressed and not chipped.  Jaw aperture not rounded.
 Heads not mushroomed.
KNIVES: WHEELBARROW:
 Handles in good condition.  Bowel in good condition.
 Blades sheathed when not in use.  No holes or sharp edges.
 Safely stored.  Support legs steady.
 Wheel run evenly and in good condition.
AXES AND PICKS: PLIERS:
 Sharp.  Handles in good condition.
 Handles not cracked and free from splinters.  Jaw grip to be well grooved.
 Correct type handle.
 Wedge in place.
RAKES: LEVELS:
 Handles not cracked and free from splinters.  Clean.
 Stored on rack.  Free from rough edges.
 No levelling face distortion.
WRENCHES: SQUARES:
 Sharp jaws not sprung or cracked.  Clean.
 Use for right type of job.  No rough edges.
 Clean.  No distortion.
BOW AND OTHER SAWS: AUGER:
 Teeth set and sharp.  Handles not cracked and free from splinters.
 Blades protected with hose when not in use.  Points sharp.
 Properly stored.
BOLT CUTTER: SPADES:
 Handle grips in good condition.  Handle not cracked
 Sharp cutting edges.  Grip not damaged
 No play on joints.  Tip not damaged.
