02. LOWEST OPERATIONAL USE TEMPERATURES

The “Lowest Operational Use Temperature” (LOUT) is the deepest temperature an aeroplane de-icing/anti-icing fluid can be used (with a
specific mixture ratio) in respect to:
- Aerodynamic Acceptance
- Freezing Point
- Operational Buffer

The following tables always show the LOUT with the respective mixture ratio. For Type I Fluids it gives the LOUT for propeller aircraft (take-
off speed below 100 knots) and jet aircraft (take-off speed above 100 knots).
