We have planned various interesting events as part of the UAE Children’s Innovation Fest 2024. The
main events of the fest include:
1) Event 1 – UAE Unique Project
2) Event 2 - Science Innovative Skit Contest
3) Event 3 - Poster Making Contest
4) Event 4 - Scientific Case Study
5) Event 5 - The Third Eye –Photography contest
6) Event 6 – Science Quiz Competition
7) Event 7 – Coloring/Drawing contest to promote Environmental awareness
8) Event 8 -Teachers Empowerment program
9) Event 9 – Seminar for students
We look forward to your School’s participation in all the events. An overall Championship trophy will
also be awarded to the school with the maximum winning entries.

KINDLY NOTE:
 Dates & Details of registration are mentioned in the attached document of
SCIENCE INDIA FORUM.
 The registration is open now. The online registration for the Drawing event has started (Direct
registration by the students).
 To summarize UAE Unique projects, Quiz, Poster making (Direct registration by the students)
& Drawing events (Direct registration by the students) will be held on Nov 2nd and 3rd at the
venue.
 In charge teachers will intimate the details accordingly for Events 1 & 2-6.
 All other events are online and entries should be emailed to the mentioned E-mail address in
the circular.

Event 1 – UAE Unique Project presentation

Main Theme -“Understanding Ecosystem for Health & Well-being”.

Sub-themes:

1) Know your Ecosystem.

2) Fostering Heath, Nutrition & Well-being.
3) Social & Cultural Practice for Ecosystem & Health
4) Ecosystem Based Approach (EBA) for Self -Reliance
5) Technological Innovation for Ecosystem & Health

All teams will display their projects in an exhibition format on the first day. Judges will listen
to Project abstracts and 5 best teams from each category will be allowed to present on
stage on day 2. Presentation will be for 8 minutes and 2 minutes for interaction with judges.
Viva questions will be asked to selected teams on stage. The best 2 teams in each category
will be the adjudged as Winners.

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

POINTS TO NOTE:

• A team will have only Two Child Scientist.

• Each participating schools in UAE can send a maximum of 3 (Three) teams/projects from
each group.
• Junior Category-Lower Group: 10 years to less than 14 years, -Maximum 3 team
• Senior Category-Upper Group: 14 years to less than 17 years –Maximum 3 team
• Two Child Scientist can form the team and carry out the research project with the help
of school teachers, coordinators of school science clubs, experts/ activists of science
based voluntary organizations research Institutes etc.
• All teams will display their projects in an exhibition format.
• Judges will listen to Project abstracts and 5 best teams from each category will be
allowed to present full project. Presentation will be for 8 minutes and 2 minutes for
interaction with judges.

Event 2 - Science Innovative Skit Contest -ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

The Scientific skit contest will be based on the NCSC theme and its sub themes. The youtube

• ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

• Junior Category-Lower Group: 10 years to less than 14 years, -Maximum 4 entries per school.
Each team can have a maximum of 5 team members.

• Senior Category-Upper Group: 14 years to less than 17 years –Maximum 4 entries per school.
Each team can have a maximum of 5 team members.

• All Videos should be 5 minutes or less. We will call for youtube links from the schools.

• The skits will be judged according to the following: creativity and presentation (40%),
originality (30%) and relevance to the theme (30%).

Event 3 - Poster Making Contest

 • • The posters will be judged according to the following criteria: creativity and
presentation(40%), originality (30%) and relevance to the theme (30%).

• • Topic will be announced 1 hour before the contest. All material required for contest to
be brought by participants. A3 size sheets will be provided. All posters should have a
caption.

• • 1 ½ hours will be provided for making the poster.

• • The posters will be displayed and will be adjudged.

• • The contest will be held simultaneously in a separate room and judges will select the
winners

Event 4 - Scientific Case Study

• ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

• Apply your research skills to find solutions to a pertinent global issue. Address the topic
from all possible areas of science and consider the ethical, social, and economic
implications of your proposed solution.

• Tackle the case in teams of 3 members and present a solution to a panel of judges who
will critique and score the presentations.

• All teams will receive the case topic, detailed instructions, one week before the
presentation date.

• Only those teams that have registered and confirmed their attendance will receive the
case details.

• Junior Category-Lower Group: 10 years to less than 14 years, -Maximum 3 entries per school.
Each team can have a maximum of 3 team members.

• Senior Category-Upper Group: 14 years to less than 17 years –Maximum 3 entries per school.

Event 5 - The Third Eye –Photography contest

Engage youth in science, technology, engineering, by:

– Exploring visual aspects through the art and science of photography;

– Capturing images to demonstrate and communicate scientific concepts and

phenomena;

– Applying techniques to the capture of digital images.

• Junior Category-Lower Group: 10 years to less than 14 years, -Maximum 3 entries per school.
This is an individual event.

• Senior Category-Upper Group: 14 years to less than 17 years –Maximum 3 entries per school.
This is an individual event.

Image Eligibility –

• Any image that demonstrates, communicates or explains a scientific, technological,

engineering concept or phenomenon is eligible.

• The internet entry form requires the contestant to describe briefly the concept or
phenomenon associated with each image.

• Images must be the sole work of the contestant.

 • Images must be captured using a digital camera – images created in software are not
permitted

• Processing, including cropping and adjustments to correct or enhance exposure or

colours, is acceptable; the addition, removal or distortion of significant content is not
permitted.

• Images must not include a watermark or descriptive text.

Description to be included with the image

• Name and surname

• Age
• School and Emirate
• Email address
• Title (maximum of 50 characters)
• Brief plain language (English) description of the science concept or phenomena depicted
in the image. The description should be understandable for youth/students and the

Event 6 – Science Quiz Competition

This is a team event with participation from 2 members in a team. The intial selection is a
written test. Five teams will be selected for the final event. Registration can be done by mailing

Event 7 - Colouring/Drawing contest to promote Environmental awareness (Onsite event)

• This is an open category contest and any child can participate

• Registration can be done through our SIF website

• A registration charge of AED 15 is applicable for each entry.

• Categories are : 5 to less than 8 years, 8 years till Less than 12 years, 12 years to less
than 16 years

We are also organizing seminars for Teachers and students during the event.

The registration will open by September 1st 2024. The online registration for the Drawing
event will start by October 10th 2024.

To summarize UAE Unique projects, Quiz, Poster making & Drawing events will be held on
Nov 2nd and 3rd at the venue. All other events are online and entries should be emailed to us
based on the dates mentioned.
