### Skit: The Body Language Showdown

**Characters:**
- **Interviewer** (INT)
- **Alex** (good body language)
- **Jordan** (poor body language)

**Setting:** A stage with three chairs in a row. The interviewer sits in the
center, Alex on one side, and Jordan on the other. A small table in front has
nameplates for Alex and Jordan.

---

**INT:** Welcome, everyone, to the ultimate showdown of body language! Today, we’re
diving deep into the art of non-verbal communication in interviews. Meet our
contestants: Alex and Jordan!

**INT:** (gestures to Alex) First up, Alex! Tell us a bit about yourself.

**Alex:** (sits up straight, beams, and makes enthusiastic eye contact) Hi! I’m
Alex. I’ve been a graphic designer for three years. I’m passionate about
creativity, teamwork, and making things look awesome!

**INT:** (nods approvingly, then gestures to Jordan) And now, let’s hear from
Jordan.

**Jordan:** (slouches, avoids eye contact, and mumbles) Hey, I’m Jordan. I’ve
worked in marketing. Managed a few campaigns and stuff.

**INT:** Notice the contrast? Alex radiates confidence and energy, while Jordan
seems a bit… well, let’s say, less enthusiastic.

**INT:** (to Alex) Alex, what’s your secret for nailing interviews?

**Alex:** (uses expressive hand gestures and maintains eye contact) It’s all about
preparation. I research the company, practice my answers, and focus on positive
body language—good posture, lots of eye contact, and a smile that could light up a
room!

**INT:** (turning to Jordan) And Jordan, what’s your preparation strategy?

**Jordan:** (fidgets with a pen, looks at the floor) I mostly go over my resume and
think about my answers. Body language? I don’t really think about it. I mean, who
notices that, right?

**INT:** Alex’s approach is comprehensive, combining verbal and non-verbal

preparation. Jordan’s strategy, on the other hand, leaves a little to be desired in
the body language department.

**INT:** (to Alex) Describe a challenging project you’ve tackled.

**Alex:** (leans forward, uses animated gestures) Oh, definitely! I led a team to
redesign a client’s brand identity with a tight deadline. We brainstormed,
collaborated, and delivered something so fantastic the client threw us a mini-
celebration!

**INT:** (turns to Jordan) And Jordan, how about you?

**Jordan:** (slouches further, mumbling) Well, I managed a campaign. There were a
lot of tasks, and things didn’t go perfectly. It was stressful, but we got through
it.

**INT:** Notice how Alex’s engaged and open body language reflects his positive
experience? Jordan’s less enthusiastic posture tells a different story.

**INT:** (to Alex) What’s the most crucial element of body language in an
interview?

**Alex:** (smiling broadly and making strong eye contact) Good posture, steady eye
contact, and a sincere smile! It’s all about showing confidence and interest. If
you look like you’re having fun, they’ll think you are!

**INT:** (turning to Jordan) And what’s your take on body language?

**Jordan:** (shifts uncomfortably) I mean, I guess it’s important, but I think if

you have great answers, that’s what really counts. Body language is… secondary?

**INT:** Here’s the takeaway: Body language isn’t just an add-on; it’s a crucial
part of your presentation. Alex’s polished demeanor enhances his responses, while
Jordan’s less engaged body language could use a little work.

**INT:** (to Alex) Thank you, Alex, for showing us how it’s done!

**Alex:** (stands, smiles, and gives a thumbs up) Thank you! It was a pleasure!

**INT:** (turns to Jordan) And thank you, Jordan, for giving us a different
perspective.

**Jordan:** (stands, awkwardly) Yeah, thanks. I guess I’ll work on the whole body
language thing.

**INT:** Remember, folks: In interviews, how you present yourself can be just as
important as what you say. A confident demeanor can open doors that great answers
alone might not. Thanks for tuning in, and keep your body language sharp!
