OBJECTIVES

The course is designed primarily for 3rd year M.B.B.S students and will cover the fundamental aspects of inflammation, and pharmacology of
anti-inflammatory drugs with interrelated clinical aspects of medicine, surgery, orthopaedic surgery, eye, nose and throat. By the end of the
module the students should be able to:

The cells and types of inflammation, cellular and vascular events of inflammation.
Process of phagocytosis.
Outcome of inflammatory process
Acute and chronic inflammatory conditions of nose and throat
Inflammatory conditions of orbit and eyelid
2. Discuss the role of:

Chemical mediators in inflammation and anti-inflammatory drugs.

Autocoids, serotonin and its antagonists.
Medicolegal certification in different injuries

Types of Injuries along with their mechanics

Difference between antemortem/postmortem injuries
