Real-World Problem: TEENAGE PREGNANCY
Scenario:
We choose to address the issue of Teenage Pregnancy as a Global issue aiming to
promote the well-being and development of adolescents and communities
worldwide.
1. Understanding (Comprehension);
Research: We begin by conducting research, on the topic of pregnancy delving into
various factors such as socioeconomic backgrounds, educational environments, and
cultural influences.
2. Applying (Application);
Identifying Concepts: We identify concepts associated with pregnancy such as sex
education, access to contraceptives, and community support.
Developing a Plan: Our aim is to create a prevention plan that incorporates these
concepts and places emphasis on education, healthcare, and community involvement.
3. Analyzing (Analysis);
Breaking down the Problem: We analyze the problem by examining its contributing
factors. Through examination of data, we seek to understand trends and identify high-
risk groups.
4. Creating (Synthesis);
Generating Ideas: We brainstorm ideas that encompass school-based programs, peer
mentoring initiatives, and targeted outreach efforts.
Comprehensive Approach: Our goal is to synthesize these ideas into an approach for
preventing pregnancy that addresses various aspects while ensuring inclusivity and
cultural sensitivity.
5. Evaluating (Evaluation):
Establishing Criteria: We establish criteria for success considering factors such as
reduced pregnancy rates, increased awareness levels, and community engagement.
Assessing Solutions: We evaluate solutions against these criteria while also developing
products, like educational materials and implementation plans.
Creating (Creation) Tangible Product: As part of the implementation strategy we will
focus on creating products such, as modules and community outreach plans.
Implementation Steps: We will outline a plan for implementation with an emphasis on
collaboration with schools, healthcare providers, and community organizations.
6. Presenting (Creation):
Communication: To effectively communicate our plan to stakeholders we will create
engaging presentations and materials using easily understandable language.
Justification: We will justify the significance of our plan by highlighting how it can make
an impact, in reducing pregnancy rates and promoting healthier communities.
7. Reflecting (Evaluation):
Reflection: We understand the need for community participation, raising awareness of
community concerns, and providing sex education to youth. Consider what went well
and what may be improved as we reflect on the process.
Broader Implications: Assess the broader implications, considering the long-term
societal impacts and potential for scalability.
Summary: The aforementioned scenario offers a methodical and complete strategy
for tackling the real-world problem of teenage pregnancy by utilizing the updated
Bloom's taxonomy and the ADDIE model. Each phase adds to a well-rounded approach,
from comprehending and assessing the problem to developing and presenting a holistic
preventative strategy. Continuous assessment and reflection promote adaptation and
effectiveness in dealing with this complex societal situation.
