BEED 1-A

The Concept of Self (“Do I Know My Self”)

My own definition of “self”.

Self-awareness has been a very serious phase when you are reaching your goals to know
yourself better. Who am I? And do I truly know myself? Those are the two major
questions that will come to our mind when it comes to identifying who we really are.
Heredity and the environment will have a big impact on our growth. The values that have
been passed down from your parents, the environment where you grew up, and the
environment that you will eventually choose—I actually believe in the saying, “Tell me
who your friends are, and I will tell you who you are.” This saying has a big impact on me
when it comes to choosing the friends that I want to trust, go with, spend the rest of my
time with, and tell some of my personal stories or rants. We have so may options in life
but the important thing is we have to choose the right one.

Having a specific goal in life is my mentality, and for me, what I am doing today can
improve all of my tomorrows. In my perspective, cherishing what you have is a stepping
stone to satisfaction, and importantly, knowing our likes and dislikes will have a big
impact on us because, in that way, we can identify what satisfaction we have in life and
what triggers our emotions and anger if we don’t want something.

If given a chance to relate my personality to something, I will choose a book because

many will judge my cover, some will read my content, but not everyone will reach the
last chapter, and also because a book has a lot of topics, but not every topic is
understood.
