The structure of the tourism industry is made up of
several components and involves many different
stakeholders. These components are all in interrelated
with each other in one way or another. The components of
tourism make up the entire tourism system.
There are several components of tourism. Without these
components the tourism industry struggle to function.

1 Travel Service
Travel services sector helps travelers or tourist arrange
and reserve their vacation or business travels
This sector made up of businesses and organizations
that work in a synchronized effort to provide travelers
with seamless arrangements to maximize their travel
experience.

Travel Services Components
Travel Agency - a business that operates in the
intermediary between the travel industry ( supplier )
and the traveler (purchaser). ( Market prepackaged
tours and holidays to pitential travelers)
Tour Operator - packages all or most of the
components of an offered tour and then sells them to
the traveler. ( inbound/ outbound)
Destination Marketing Organization (DMO)-focuses on
the development and marketing of a destination.
2 Tourism
Board
Tourism board is an important sector of tourism and an
essential part of the structure of the tourism industry.
Primarily responsible for the promotion of tourism in a
particular area - may it be a city, province, a region, or a
country.
Tourism board is usually Government funded.
Often referred to as a Destination Marketing Organization
(DMO).
3 Transport
Services
One of the main components of tourism is accessibility,
also known as transport services. Accessibility to a place is
the most essential thing in travel as it helps a person to
reach the place of attraction.
Transport and travel services refer to the ability for tourists
to get to the destination. This mostly includes transportation,
which needs to be regularly scheduled, economical, safe and
comfortable.
Depending on the destination, this includes cars and buses,
boats and ships, trains and airplanes.

Jeepney - It is a popular and iconic public utility vehicle
PNR - The Philippine National Railways (PNR) is a state owned railway
company in the Philippines which operates one commuter rail service
between Metro Manila and Laguna, and local services between Sipocot, Naga
City and Legazpi City in the Bicol Region.
Aside from the Philippine National Railways the Philippines has four railway
lines: Manila Light Rail Transit System Line 1, Manila Light Rail Transit System
Line 2, and Manila Metro Rail Transit System Line 3.
There are 12 international airports that serve the country. And the premier
international gateway is the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Port of Manila
is considered the busiest port in the country.

This sector makes up an important part of the structure of the
tourism industry. Accommodation services traditionally
focused mainly around the hotel industry.
Today accommodation selections for tourists are much more
diverse. This adds a supplementary layer of complexity to the
structure of the tourism industry. This means that tourists or
visitors have a place to stay upon reaching the destination and a
way to get food. Much like accessibility, accommodation also
needs to be economical, safe and comfortable. The nature of
accommodation also differs according to the destination.

Conferences and events make up an important sector
of the structure of the tourism industry.
Conferences, meetings and exhibits, often come under
business tourism, come in all shapes and sizes around
the world.

6 Tourist Attraction
An important component of the tourism industry is the tourist attractions
Elements within the destination's (tourism product) tourist attraction supports
motivation for tourists. as the principal
Attractions comprise natural attractions (landscape, seascape, beaches, and
climate), built attractions (historic and/or new townscape as in newly built resorts
and purpose-built attractions such as theme parks), cultural attractions
(presentation of history and folklore organized as festivals and pageants,
museums, theatre), and social attractions (opportunities to meet with, or
encounter the residents of destinations, and experience their lifestyle, to some
extent).
However, for business and other non-leisure visitors, such as visits to friends and
relatives, the primary motivation is provided by their affinity and alliance with the
destination, while the leisure attractions may still be an influence.
7 Tourism Services
Tourism services are an essential component of tourism. Without many
tourism services, the tourism industry would fail to adequately
function.
This component is made up of the organizations, associations,
government agencies, companies that specialize in serving the needs of
tourism industry as whole rather than the individual needs of tourists.
Government organizations encourage tourism business by providing
funds, information and services. Government policies affect the industry.
Industry associations focus on how to market a certain destination.
Marketing is the promotion of the industry associations of their available
products and services for the purpose of attracting visitors or tourists.
Tourism market research is vital in order to make plans and decisions.
