Scene:
(Sarah is humming to herself as she weeds her flower bed. David is struggling with his
lawnmower, which keeps sputtering and stopping.)
Sarah: (Calling out cheerfully) Hey, David! Looks like you're having a bit of trouble with
that mower. Need any help?
David: (Startled, he looks up) Oh, hi Sarah. Thanks, but I think I've got it. Just a little
temperamental, that's all.
Sarah: (Walking over) Well, if you need a second set of hands, you know where to find
me. I've got some extra gardening gloves, too, if you want to avoid getting grass stains
on those nice clean jeans.
David: (Chuckles) You know me too well, Sarah. Thanks for the offer. I'll let you know
if I need help. I'm just trying to get this done before the rain comes in.
Sarah: Ah, yes, the unpredictable weather. It's been a bit of a rollercoaster lately. Say,
did you see that new bakery that opened up on Main Street? They have the most
amazing cinnamon rolls!
David: I haven't been down there yet. I've been busy with work and everything. But
maybe I'll check it out this weekend. I do love a good cinnamon roll.
Sarah: You definitely should! They're worth the trip. And if you're ever in the mood for
a cup of coffee, I've got a fresh pot brewing. Just come on over anytime.
David: That's very kind of you, Sarah. I might take you up on that offer. It's always nice
to have a friendly face around.
Sarah: Absolutely! And you know, if you ever need anything, don't hesitate to ask.
We're neighbors, after all. That's what we're here for.
David: Thanks, Sarah. I appreciate that. You're a good neighbor.
(David manages to get the lawnmower going again. He gives Sarah a friendly wave as
he continues mowing. Sarah smiles and waves back, then continues tending to her
flowers.)

Setting:
A bustling city street. Alice is walking quickly, looking around frantically. Ben is seated at
a table, sipping his coffee and reading a book.
Scene:
(Alice bumps into Ben's table, spilling her coffee. She apologizes profusely.)
Alice: Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry! I wasn't paying attention. Let me clean that up.
Ben: (Smiling) No worries at all. It happens. Let me get you a napkin. Are you alright?
You look a little lost.
Alice: (Sighs) I am. I'm trying to find the Museum of Modern Art, but I can't seem to find
it. I've been walking around for ages.
Ben: The MoMA? That's just a few blocks from here. I can give you directions. Are
you familiar with the main square, the one with the fountain?
Alice: Yes, I think so. I saw it on the map.
Ben: Okay, head towards the square. Once you reach the fountain, turn left and walk
for two blocks. The MoMA will be on your right, just past the bookstore.
Alice: Okay, I think I got that. Thank you so much! I really appreciate it. I'm so new to
the city, and I'm a bit overwhelmed.
Ben: No problem at all. It's easy to get lost in this city. I'm glad I could help. Enjoy
your visit to the MoMA!
Alice: I will! Thanks again.
**(Alice smiles gratefully and heads off in the direction Ben indicated. Ben watches her
go, then returns to his coffee and book, feeling a sense of satisfaction at having helped
a stranger.)

EMOTIONAL EXPRESSION
A bustling college campus, right after exam results are posted.
Scene:
(Olivia and Ethan are walking towards the notice board, both visibly nervous. They stop
in front of the board, their eyes scanning the list of names. Olivia finds her name and
lets out a shriek of joy.)
Olivia: (Jumping up and down) Ethan! Ethan! I passed! I passed!
Ethan: (Looking at the board, his eyes widening) You did! Olivia, that's amazing! I
knew you could do it!
(Ethan throws his arms around Olivia, and they both laugh and cry with happiness.
They pull back, still beaming.)
Olivia: (Wiping away a tear) I can't believe it! I was so nervous. I studied so hard, and
I thought I was going to fail.
Ethan: (Smiling) You worked so hard, Olivia. You deserve all the happiness in the
world. I'm so proud of you!
Olivia: (Hugging Ethan again) Thank you, Ethan. You've been so supportive
throughout this whole process. I wouldn't have made it without you.
Ethan: (Patting Olivia's back) We're a team, Olivia. We always got each other's backs.
Now, let's go celebrate! How about a celebratory pizza and a movie?
Olivia: (Laughing) You read my mind! Pizza and a movie sounds perfect. Let's go!
**(Olivia and Ethan link arms and walk off, their laughter echoing through the campus.
They are both filled with a sense of accomplishment and shared joy. Their friendship
has been tested, but it has also been strengthened through this shared experience.)
