“Insight Paper”
This paper reflects on the insights I learned from what I’ve watched in a recent seminar
on research methodologies, highlighting the key lessons and their impact on my approach to
future research. The seminar explored cutting-edge techniques in experimental research,
providing me with both a comprehensive understanding of experimental design and valuable
guidance on writing an effective research paper.
The seminar began by focusing on the basics of writing a research paper, such as the
correct use of fonts, text size, spacing, indentation, and point of view. As someone who is
still developing my research skills, I found this information particularly helpful. These
foundational details will be essential not only for my current academic work but also for any
future research projects. I now feel more confident that I can present my ideas in a clear,
structured, and professional manner.
One of the most valuable aspects of the seminar was the detailed discussion on research
methods, which will be crucial when I develop the methodology section for Chapter 3 of the
research paper. I learned about research locales the specific geographic or contextual setting
of the study and the importance of selecting an appropriate sample. The seminar provided
clear guidance on how to choose samples, why certain samples should be selected, and how
this choice affects the validity and reliability of the research.
Additionally, the seminar introduced me to three different types of research designs.
The first was the Completely Randomized Design (CRD), where all subjects are exposed to
identical conditions, such as room temperature and lighting, to minimize external factors that
could influence the variables being studied. The second was the Randomized Complete Block
Design (RCBD), a design commonly used in agricultural experiments to control variability.
Lastly, the Repeated Measures Design was discussed, which is used when applying the same
sample and setting across different conditions to observe changes over time.
The seminar offered me a thorough understanding of research techniques and practices
that will serve as a critical guide for developing the methodology of the research papers. The
emphasis on writing style such as using the third-person point of view, passive voice, and the
correct use of tense helped clarify how to maintain objectivity and professionalism in my
writing. With these insights, I now feel better equipped to construct high-quality research
papers and apply these techniques to my future academic work.
