- In my own perspective Philippine Science High School Systems (PSHSS) has


the best vision and mission. It is because they will prepare the students to
become globally competitive Filipino scientists that is equipped with 21st
century skills and prepares the student for careers in Science and Technology
and contributes in building the nation.

4. Discuss the concept indigenous science and its contribution in the


development of science and technology in the Philippines.

- Indigenous science includes complex arrays of knowledge, expertise,


practices and responsibilities according to Pawilen (2005) and Sibisi (2004).
Indigenous science, process, skills, guided by community culture and values
and composed of traditional knowledge. Indigenous science contributes in the
understanding of ecological relationships and natural resources management.
Indigenous also contributes in the indigenous knowledge about medicinal
plants and it also help the people to understand the natural environment and
cope in everyday living.
