The lesson plan integrates group discussions by having students work in small groups to analyze posters' types, messages, and purposes. Students discuss these elements on worksheets, which aids in collective problem-solving and enhances understanding through peer interaction. By analyzing posters collaboratively, students can integrate multiple perspectives, enrich their learning experience, and develop a comprehensive understanding of the poster's function and design characteristics .

The key benefits include fostering collaboration, developing critical thinking, and enhancing communication skills. Students engage with real-world tasks, thereby improving their ability to solve complex problems. Additionally, creating posters in English allows students to practice language skills in a creative context, promoting a deeper synthesis of language and content knowledge, ultimately leading to more meaningful educational experiences .

Student independence is fostered through activities that require them to brainstorm and conduct initial research individually. Furthermore, working on group projects allows students to explore their own ideas and make decisions on how to contribute to the project. This approach encourages students to take initiative and responsibility for their learning while having the opportunity for some guided support from the teacher when necessary .

Teachers might face challenges such as managing diverse student abilities within group work, ensuring all students are equally engaged, and allocating adequate time for project completion. Moreover, they may encounter difficulties in assessing individual contributions fairly within a group setting. Adapting technology-based tools might also pose a challenge if resources are limited or if students are not equally familiar with these tools .

The genre-based approach focuses on understanding the structure and function of different genres, which helps students identify and analyze the elements of posters. The project-based learning approach promotes active learning by engaging students in creating posters themselves. This combination enhances understanding as students not only learn about poster design theoretically but also apply their knowledge practically, leading to a deeper comprehension of how to communicate effectively through visual media .

The teaching module incorporates technological tools such as Canva for poster creation and the use of PPT, projectors, and laptops to facilitate interactive learning experiences. These tools enable students to access a wide range of design options, collaborate digitally, and present their projects effectively, enhancing both their technical skills and their understanding of visual media communication .

The proposed strategies for creating engaging posters include identifying the topic and purpose of the poster, determining the target audience, and incorporating attractive colors and illustrations to convey the message clearly. Additionally, selecting an appropriate template and ensuring the illustrations align with the intended message are crucial steps. These strategies combine visual appeal with clear communication to effectively engage the audience .

Cultural understanding plays a crucial role by helping students explore and comprehend diverse perspectives through poster creation that often reflects cultural themes and contexts. This allows students to learn about and appreciate different cultures while simultaneously developing skills in visual communication. It ensures that their learning is rooted in real-world applications and fosters global awareness .

The Pancasila Learner Profile consists of five components: having faith and noble characters, being collaborative, independent, creative thinking, and critical reasoning. These components contribute to learning by encouraging students to develop personal virtues such as kindness and respect for others, engage in meaningful group discussions and teamwork, independently conduct brainstorming, and enhance their ability to critically analyze and creatively engage with materials. This holistic development approach fosters a comprehensive educational experience that extends beyond academic knowledge .

The learning assessment methods include students' workbooks, tests, self-assessment, peer assessment, and mid/final semester tests, reflecting the module's objectives by gauging students' ability to understand and create posters. These assessments are designed to evaluate the students' comprehension of poster design and their ability to apply this knowledge critically and creatively in practical scenarios, effectively aligning with the module's goal of fostering independent and collaborative learning .
