1.3 Designing a Workable System

Design criteria
Optimized parameters
Usually cost, sometimes performance.
Maximized, minimized, specified goal.
Constrained parameters
Other parameters (e.g., size, weight, environment, ..etc.)
Less than, greater than, between, exact.
Note
Sometimes many parameters are expressed in terms of one
parameter (usually cost) → transferring
e.g. performance → cost, size → cost
