Competency Management System To have a system / framework in place for the organization that focuses on various competencies essential for the

organizations growth competency Building and competency Management- maintaining the details of competencies acquired and upgraded by the employees. 3 Users of the System 1. HR Department 2. Employee 3. Appraisal & Compensation department 4. Training department 5. Senior Management 4 Functional Requirements (At least Eight) 1. Provide role based access to system 2. Allowing senior management to create, update, delete various positions and competencies required for these positions competency building. 3. Allowing an employee to create, update, delete data on competencies acquired by him for his/her position. To maintain the employee competency score card centrally. 4. Superior is able to view the employee competency score card. Superior to be able to fill up the score along with the supporting evidence as text comments. 5. Peers to able to review and update the score card with their comments on the employees performance In employee score card based on various parameters like relationship with peers, leadership skills, Technical Skills, Problem Solving Skills, Communication Skills. 6. Final score for the employee is to be calculated (Average of 3 scores) and recorded in the central database. Employee, superior be able to view the final score of employee. 7. Employee superior be able to get details of employee on competencies need to improve, training to attend, and suggested promotions.

8. Training department be allowed to create, update, delete training program and maintain centralized data of the same. 9. Employee to be able to search and enrol for a training program. 10. System be able to forecast training requirements on number of employees per module, per department, per competency etc. based on updated employee

competency scorecard to help training department prepare the training plan. 11. System to provide various analytical reports to appraisal & compensation department for devising appraisal plans and for reference by senior

management. 5 Non-Functional requirements 6 Tools & Technologies to be Used 1. Create a detailed UML diagram using RSA 7.5 2. Deploy the solution using Web-Sphere Application Server tool-Kit which serves dual purpose i.e. as an IDE as well as an application server. RAD 3. DB2 Database Secure access of confidential data (Users details)
