About Engineering:

Engineering function within Tally is responsible for the Design, Development & Testing of all the
delightful and flawless products that we release for our customers. We at Engineering do deep
technology innovation to deliver unique experiences and capabilities at scale for simplifying business
operations across sectors and segments. In this role, the individual would be involved in various stages
of the projects like Tech feasibility, developing prototypes, Design, Code Design, Coding, Code Review
& Unit testing. The role would require learning new technologies & solve complex technical problems.
This will be an exciting role for someone who has experience in development for cloud platforms and
would like to actively engage in projects related to architecture and design solving problems around
security, reliability, speed, and scale. We are setting up our AI practice, with an agenda to bring ‘AI to
SMEs’, from the most popular software product brand for SMEs with 2.4 million customer bases.

Role: Trainee – Software Engineer

Compensation: 12.98 LPA (Total Cost to Company)

Location: Bangalore

What will you own:

Transition from academic environment to real world software engineering is first about transformation
in how one approaches any given problem. There are fundamental shifts in how one thinks about speed
and robustness. This requires a different level of depth and rigor. Initially, you’ll be expected to
undergo a rigorous program that will shape your style of problem solving. This requires one to be
hands on in problem solving, resisting the temptation of easy solutions, and understand fundamentals
thoroughly. Post this program, you’ll be expected to contribute to product development by writing
code for new features and products we’re building. You will also be contributing to making product
robust by analysing reported issues.

Tech we work with:

We are a technology company. We build high performance business applications. This requires deep
understanding of systems level programming. We have built our own Database engine, UI Engine and
own application development language – TDL. We work close to the wire and use technologies that
are suitable for it. C++ programming language is our primary weapon of choice for this. We regularly
experiment with various other technologies to see how we can leverage them to deliver value to our
customers. We’re experimenting with machine learning, AI, blockchain as well. Some of our services
use [Link], [Link] and python. However, we expect proficiency in system programming from all our
engineers.

Experience to bring with you:

• B. E/ [Link] -2024 graduates across specializations (throughout 60% with no current backlogs).
• Good understanding of object-oriented programming/ design, data structures and algorithms.
• Proficient in at least one or more programming languages – C++, Java, JavaScript, R or PHP.
• Ability to pick up new technologies rapidly.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Windows and Linux platforms.
What will you be doing?

• Understand functional and technical specifications.

• Evaluate and implement algorithms for platform and application development.
• Code in C++, TDL (Tally Definition Language), Java, PHP or similar programming languages.
• Write automated unit tests.
• Follow prevailing practices regarding documentation, coding standards and development
tools.
