Project Synopsis Format

 Synopsis, preferably, should be of about 4-5 pages.

 The content should be as brief as is sufficient enough to explain the objective and implementation
of the project.
 The write up/document must adhere to the guidelines and should include the following:

1. Name (Group Name) and Title of the Project

2. Problem of Statement

3. Objective and scope of the project

4. Methodology

5. Hardware & Software to be used

6. Application and Future Scope of the Project

7. Project Timeline (Gantt chart/ PERT chart)

[Link]/Bibliography.

Following contents have to be taken into consideration in synopsis:

Group Details: You should mentioned your project group members details like Roll Number, Sem,
Mobile, College email ID with this report.

Title/Topic of the Project: This should be explicitly mentioned at the beginning of the Synopsis. Since the
topic itself gives an insight into the project to be taken up, the student is suggested to be reasonable on the
name/title of the project. The title being the overall impression on the complete work, the topic should
substantiate the work.

Objective and Scope: This should give a clear picture and final outcome of the project. Objectives should
be clearly specified. What the project ends up to and in what way it is going to help the end user has to be
mentioned.
Process Description: The process of the whole software system proposed, to be developed, should be
mentioned in brief. This has to be supported by DFD's/ Flowcharts/UML Diagrams to explain the flow of
the data and control in the project.

Resources and Limitations: The requirement of the resources for designing and developing the proposed
system must be given. The resources might be in form of the hardware / software or real time data. The
limitations of the proposed system in respect of a larger and comprehensive system must be given in the
synopsis itself.

Conclusion: The document must end with the concluding remarks-briefly describing innovations in
implementing the project and also any other important feature that makes the system stands out from the
rest.

References and bibliography: The complete list of books (chapter listing, topic listing), website links
(complete URLs) and research papers (title and authors, year of publications) have to be mentioned.

A project synopsis should include the project title, problem statement, objectives and scope, methodology, hardware and software requirements, application and future scope, project timeline, and references. These components are crucial as they provide a comprehensive overview of the project's goals, the problems it addresses, how it intends to solve them, the technological tools to be used, and expected outcomes. This helps stakeholders understand the project's intent, execution strategy, and potential impact .

A bibliography and references section should include detailed citations such as titles, authors, publication years, and complete URLs for online sources. This section provides credibility to the project by acknowledging prior work, enabling verification of sources and facilitating further research .

Detailing roles clarifies individual responsibilities, promotes accountability, and ensures efficient task distribution, mitigating the risk of overlaps or gaps. In a synopsis, it validates the group's preparedness and capabilities, which is essential for collaborative efficacy .

Concluding with remarks on innovations underscores the project's distinctiveness and value proposition, which can intrigue stakeholders and emphasize the project's contribution to existing technologies or practices. This positively influences perception by showcasing thought leadership and foresight .

Outlining future scope shows the project's capacity for growth, potential for scalability, and vision beyond initial implementation, which can attract investor interest by highlighting promising long-term opportunities and flexibility in adapting to future technological advancements .

Choosing emerging technologies like IoT or AI offers advantages like relevance in current tech trends, opportunities for innovation, and potential significant impact on society. However, disadvantages may include rapidly changing knowledge bases, high complexity, resource intensity, and potential ethical concerns .

Including a Gantt chart or PERT chart helps delineate project tasks, schedule timelines, and track progress, ensuring organized and structured project management. These tools visually map out project phases and dependencies, aiding in resource allocation, deadline adherence, and risk management .

Specifying resources helps ensure the project team has identified and secured necessary tools, technologies, and data for development, minimizing unforeseen constraints. By acknowledging limitations, teams can devise strategies to navigate or mitigate them, ensuring realistic goals and enhancing project preparedness and success .

A clear problem statement defines the core issue the project seeks to address. It guides the development by focusing efforts on pertinent challenges, allowing for targeted solutions and helping to assess the project's relevance and align with its goals effectively .

Including detailed hardware and software requirements ensures the chosen technologies directly support project objectives, facilitate necessary functionalities, and comply with anticipated project workload. This alignment is crucial for smooth implementation and efficiency .
