Project Presentation Guidelines
Project Presentation Guidelines
For the final demonstration, students should prepare a complete project module, ensure thorough testing and result analysis, and submit a finalized project report that includes design, fabrication, testing, and an analysis of results. The demonstration must not include labeled project center or industry names, and students must bring hard copies of the PPT signed by their guide .
Students must respond actively to queries, behave responsibly, avoid arguments with reviewers, and maintain records such as attendance slips and project notebooks signed by their guides. Proper dress code and carrying necessary documents like created files are mandatory. They should also ensure work presented is not marked with project center/industry names .
A literature survey starts with examining the base paper and followed reference papers, focusing on identifying existing problems. This helps in justifying the project choice and situates the work within existing research. The survey is important for understanding the state-of-the-art and clarifying the problem statement, which is crucial for developing a viable solution and highlighting benefits over existing systems .
The review process consists of three stages. The first review is scheduled for the 3rd week of December or January and evaluates ideas, methodology, specifications, applications, and simulation results with completion of 1/3rd of the work. The second review in late January assesses the design, component selection, and programming, with 2/3rd of the work expected. The final review in February involves evaluating post-second review progress, module testing, results analysis, and final report submission .
Reviewers will focus on evaluating the project methodology, design, application potential, and simulation results during the first review. The second stage emphasizes component selection and programming aspects, while the final review assesses the completed module, result analysis, and the comprehensive report, effectively covering all project aspects from conception through execution .
The guidelines ensure clarity by prescribing structured content, use of minimal slide points, clear images and graphs, and appropriate design elements. Effectiveness is achieved through instructions for logical and scientific explanations, prepared responses to potential questions, and maintaining professional conduct throughout the presentation. This enhances the communication of the research findings and the student's understanding of their work .
Maintaining a project notebook is crucial as it serves as a record of daily progress with requisite supervisor signatures. It is essential because project coordinators may request to review it at any time, verifying consistent progress and attendance, which is a prerequisite for participating in reviews .
The PowerPoint presentation must include the project title, registration number, student and supervisor names on the first slide; a clear statement of the project objective; a comparison with existing systems; a literature survey; prototype specifications; methodology explanation with block diagrams and algorithms; specific applications; expected results; demonstration plan; work plan including design and testing steps; estimated budget; and references in IEEE format. Other general instructions include clear explanations, appropriate font size and slide points, limited images, proper use of graphs, and ensuring preparation for random questions .
Slides should have a light background, proper paragraph settings, line spacing, and alignments with a minimum font size of 14. Each slide should have a maximum of 8 points with no animation effects, and the visual elements such as pictures and graphs must be clear, with graphs titled and labeled appropriately .
The instructions emphasize choosing components based on logical, reasonable, and scientific justification derived from reference papers. This includes consideration for their role in meeting the project objectives, their functionality within the chosen methodology, and how they integrate within the system design proposed. This choice is crucial for project feasibility and effectiveness .
