I. INTRODUCTION

Activty 1. Define me!
Give each student or pair of students a dictionary. When the teacher call out a word, the
student(s) must find the word as quickly as possible. The first group to give the meaning wins
the round.

-Overview of the problem you want to address, the solution you are proposing and
the rationale for choosing both the problem and solution.

Techniques in Writing a Concept Paper
1. Definition- a method describing a given concept and making its meaning clear
by means of giving a description, examples and illustrations.
2. Explication- a method of explaining a concept or issue by borrowing a
sentences, verses or passages from an academic or literary work and explaining
these thoroughly in relation to the concept being explained.
3. Clarification- that involves organizing ideas from abstract, or those not readily
understood, to concrete examples, or to those easily understood.
Parts of a Concept Paper for and Academic Research
●Title Page
- a page at the beginning of a book giving its title, the names of the author and
publisher, and other publication information.
●Background of the Study
-practical implications of your proposed research and reasons why you want to
undertake your research topic.
●Statement of the Problem/Objectives
-state the general problem and write specific research questions or objectives.
●Preliminary Literature review
- related studies and brief synthesis of the reviewed literature and studies.

Guidelines for Writing a Concept Paper
1. Do a through research on your chosen topic.
2. Outline important ideas to make sure you have included the significant
derails.
3. Write each part one at a time, based on your outline.
4. Be realistic when you set your goals and timeline.
5. Capitalize on the obvious advantages of your project description.
