Canyon
A canyon is a deep,
narrow valley with steep
sides.
This is the great and wonderful, Grand Canyon, obviously. It is located in Arizona, USA.
Volcano
Volcanoes is a crack in a planet's crust,
such as the one on Earth, that permits hot
lava, volcanic ash, and gases to escape
from a magma chamber below the surface.
This is Mt. Etna, one of the world's many active volcanoes, located in the Island of Sicily
Hill
Hills are basically mountains
that are usually a lot smaller
and dont have snowy peaks.
This is Chocolate hills. Look cool, don't they? They are located in the Philippines.
Mountain
Mountains, sorta like hills, need
to rise at least 1000 feet before
its considered a mountain, they
are normally rocky and can have
a snowy peak depending on
how high they raise.
This is mt. Fuji, located in Japan
Basin
A dip in the surface of the Earth is known as
a basin. Basins have sides that are higher
than the bottom and a bowl-like form. They
might be circular or oval in shape.
This is the Amazon basin, located in South America.
Bay
A bay is a body of water that is partially
surrounded by land.
This is the San Francisco Bay, you may think its located if San Francisco, BUT NO, it's in western California!
Beach
A beach is a landform made up of loose
particles that is located next to a body of
water.
This is Bondi Beach, home to Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
Cape
A high point of land that juts out into
a river, lake, or ocean is called a
cape.
This is Cape Agulhas, located in South Africa.
Waterfall
An area in a river or stream where
water pours over a vertical drop or
several steep drops
Wow, can you guess this waterfall? If you guessed Niagara falls, you correct! Located in Ontario
Lowlands
These include of peat plateaus,
open and wooded bogs, strung and
palsa fens, swamps, marshes, and
open water.
These are the great lakes, located in Eastern North America
Cave
A natural earth void that is big enough for a
person to enter is known as a cave or cavern.
Caves frequently stretch far down and are
formed by the weathering of rock.
This is Smoo cave, a Sea cave in Scotland
Desert
A desert is a desolate region of the
landscape with little precipitation, making
living conditions hostile for both plant and
animal life.
This is the Sahara Desert, located in Africa
Lake
A body of water that is surrounded
by land is called a lake. Typically,
this water type is fresh water.

Isthmus
A thin stretch of land known as an
isthmus joins two bigger land
masses and divides two bodies of
water.
This is the Isthmus of Panama, linking North and South America.
Glacier
A glacier is a long-lasting mass of heavy ice that is
perpetually moving. When the ablation of snow is greater
than the accumulation over a long period of time,
frequently centuries, a glacier forms.
So this is Jostedalsbreen glacier, try and pronounce that. But its located in Norway.
Island
A landform known as an island is one that is entirely
encircled by water. Any kind of land could be it.
This is Bora Bora Island, located in French Polynesia.
River
A landform that is the consequence of
water flowing over the surface of the
Earth is called a river.
The Nile River, located in Africa
Plateau
A plateau, often referred to as a high plain
or a tableland, is a portion of a highland
that is made up of flat land that is
significantly raised above the surroundings
on at least one side.
This is Laurentian Plateau, located in Quebec.
Wetlands
A wetland is a unique environment that
experiences seasonal or persistent flooding
or saturation by water.
Everglades National Park wetlands, located in southern Florida
Peninsula
A peninsula is a landform that projects from the mainland and is
mostly, but not entirely, bordered by water. A peninsula is also
sometimes described as a section of land with three sides surrounded
by water. Peninsulas can be found on every continent. A peninsula
can be very small or very big in size.

Mesa
A mesa is an isolated, flat-topped elevation, ridge, or
hill that rises sharply above the surrounding plain and
is surrounded on all sides by steep escarpments.
Battlement Mesa, located in Colorado
Buttes
Buttes are large, flat-topped, rock
towers with steep sides. Buttes were
produced by the erosion process.
This is the Mittens Monument Valley, located in Utah
Archipelago
An archipelago, also known as an island
group or chain, is a chain, cluster, or
collection of islands. It can also refer to a sea
that contains a few sparsely spaced islands.
The Arctic Archipelago, located in Canada aka those island you see all the time and have a pain colouring in!
