What is Financial Analysis

Financial Statement

Consists of :
▪ Balance Sheet
▪ Income Statement
▪ Cash Flow Statement
▪ Statement of Retained Earnings
Balance Sheet

▪ Represent snapshot of firm’s financial


position at specific point in time
▪ Consist of :
■ Assets (i.e. current and fixed)
■ Liabilities (i.e. short and long term)
■ Owner’s equity (i.e. common equity)

CURRENT ASSETS CURRENT LIABILITIES

▪Can be converted into cash in a relatively short ▪Obligations due and payable within a period of
time 1 year or less
▪It represents working capital of the firm that ▪E.g; Account Payables, Notes Payables,
