Computation and Step-by-Step Procedure
Formulas for computing the points
High Interval-Lowest Interval = Height Difference
Height Difference/Contour Interval= Location
High Interval – Whole number = Difference of Interval
Location X Difference of Interval = Final Point Location
Step-by-Step Procedure in Computation
Step 1: Determine the Highest Interval and the Lowest Interval in the lines
Step 2: Solve the difference between Lowest and the Highest Interval
Step 3: Divide the Height Difference to the designated Contour Interval
Step 4: Solve again the difference between High Interval and its Whole Number
Example:
23.9 inches (Its whole number will be 23 inches)
Step 5: Multiply the Location and the Difference of Interval to get the Point Location
Step-by-Step Procedure in Plotting Contour Lines
Step 1: From the Procedures in Computation make sure to plot the points that we get in
every lines.
Step 2: Connect the points by using spline in AutoCAD.
Step 3: After you connect the points in every interval in your contour map, make sure
that the lines doesn’t have straight lines.
Step 4: Show the Contour Interval in every lines.
Notes:
I converted the measurements from meters to inches.
The 0 meter in the contour map indicates the river in Grace VIllage
