IMPORTANT - Terms & Conditions

Reply by 20 June 2024, even if you do not have all your financial documents ready to let us
know when they will be. If you do not reply then we may not be able to issue you with a
CAS.

By responding to this email Dharam Singh . confirms and agrees;

 Your information will be shared with UKVI for the purpose of providing a Confirmation of Acceptance
for Studies (CAS) and that UKVI, including its agencies will provide information on your UK
immigration history, status and right to study in the UK
 You will complete online registration / enrolment and present your original immigration documents
(passport, entry visa and BRP if not collecting from the University) to ICA before the last date of
arrival on your CAS.
 That the above information is correct and includes any details of previous study in the UK. Please
email copies of your previous passports and visas to visa@[Link] if you have not done so
already.
 If you need to provide a TB certificate with your application, you need to ensure that this is in place
before you apply for your visa. You should arrange for medical screening clearance in advance of
receiving your CAS as they are valid for 6 months. The University will not extend arrival dates where
students fail or do not meet in time the requirements of UKVI including medical clearance.
 If you change your course or programme of study; repeat a year of your course; choose to
undertake a year abroad or add in a work placement year to your course which is not allowed under
UKVI conditions of your visa, then you may need to apply for a new visa.
 The length of UK Student Visa Route sponsorship is only for the expected length of the course
allowing for normal progression through your academic studies. If you change course or have to
repeat a year or any part of your course, the University is not obligated and may not be able to offer
this additional period of time under the UK Student Visa Route. Therefore, you may be required to
withdraw from the course and the University.
 If you currently have a visa to be in the UK, which allows you to make a new UK Student Visa Route
visa application to study at a University from within the UK, the expiry date of this visa must be on or
after Thursday 22 August 2024 and your new UK Student Visa Route application must be made
before the end date of your current visa. There is no 14 day grace period of overstaying. Someone is
an overstayer if they remain in the UK after the expiry date of their visa unless they submit a valid in-
time visa application.
 You will provide, when requested, copies of your visa application and any of the supporting
documents that have been or will be used. Please be aware that the University can withdraw a
CAS / cancel UK Student Visa Route sponsorship at any point.
 That you understand if any of the information is incorrect and/or your visa application is refused,
then you are liable for all further costs in re-applying for a visa. You may be required to pay more or
all of your tuition fees and have your documents which you plan to use for a new visa application
reviewed by ICA before a new CAS is issued. An administrative fee of £50 paid to the University will be
required for a new CAS to be issued if the University decides to issue one to you.
 Applicants requiring UK Student Visa Route sponsorship to study in the UK must not only meet the
entrance criteria for the course but also the requirements, rules and responsibilities of UKVI for
sponsorship. Therefore, an offer of a place does not guarantee automatic UK Student Visa Route
sponsorship and is at the discretion of the University. If you are refused by UKVI as they view you as
not credible the University will not issue you with a new CAS.
 That you are in a position to pay the visa application fee to UKVI including the mandatory
Immigration Health Surcharge, when applying for your UK Student Visa Route visa. The Immigration
Health Surcharge (IHS) is only required for courses of over six months in duration and this money
must not be deducted from the funds you have available to pay for your tuition fees and living
(maintenance) costs. The mandatory IHS is £776 per year for the length of time on a student’s visa,
plus the four-month wrap-up period that is automatically added to a course that is twelve months or
longer. For example, a Postgraduate Taught student on a 1-year programe will be charged £1164 for
the IHS. Please note this is to be only used as initial guidance and that the mandatory IHS you are
expected to pay is calculated by UKVI for the proposed length of your visa and may change.
 You understand that the conditions of immigration permission in the UK including post study options
are subject to change by UKVI. Therefore, future immigration options and the current conditions of a
visa cannot be guaranteed. All visa applications are made at an applicant's own risk, because of which,
Keele University has no liability for your immigration application.
 You agree to live within a commutable distance to the University to ensure that you can attend all
learning, teaching and mandatory student events. As a guide, we recommend that students do not live
more than 1 hour 30 minutes away by public transport door to door.
 Under UK immigration rules you cannot hold more than one visa at a time. Furthermore, if you
already hold a visa to enter the UK and then apply for a new UK visa, the granting of your new visa
will mean that you run the risk of it cancelling your previous visa.
 To the University’s regulation on Charging and Payment of fees, ensuring that payment to the
University is made by the due date and in the prescribed format. Students who are sponsored by an
external funding body are responsible for ensuring that their sponsor pays fees due to the University.
If a financial sponsor does not make payment to the University, then the student may become liable
for fees owed. If you receive any financial sponsorship for your tuition fees and / or living costs for
any part of your course of study, you agree that the University is able to share your personal and
course progression information with your sponsor. In addition, any changes to your circumstance or
request to change in your course of study will be reported to your financial sponsor and approval
requested if necessary under the terms of your financial sponsorship.
 You have read, understood and agreed to the responsibilities stated in the UK Immigration rules, on
the Keele website, including Regulation A1 Visa and Immigration, and in the attached document.
University regulations may be replaced by later regulations.
 You authorise Keele University to share your personal and immigration information with third party
agencies including [Link] we have received your e-mail confirming the above, we will review it
alongside the information provided by the University’s Admissions team to ensure that you are
suitable for UK Student Visa Route sponsorship. A CAS number and statement will only be issued to an
applicant where we believe that the applicant requires UK Student Visa Route sponsorship and would
be successful with a visa application. If you do not require UK Student Visa Route sponsorship then we
will contact you separately to confirm what documentation you will be required to provide to meet the
immigration requirements of enrolment at the University.

If we believe that you do not meet the requirements of UK Student Visa Route, you are not a credible
student (did not pass a credibility interview) or that you would not be successful in making a UK
Student Visa application then a CAS number will not be issued and the University’s Admissions team
will be instructed to rescind the offer of study. Please note that an offer of acceptance is not a
guaranteed offer of UK Student Visa Route sponsorship and that it is the University, as a
UKVI sponsor, who will make the decision of who it will sponsor a visa for.
