SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN MUSIC III

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the learners are expected to:

● Identifies with body movements the beginnings, middles and endings in


music.
● Performs songs with the knowledge when to start and end the song with
correct body movements.
● Shows active participation in singing songs.

IV. PROCEDURE

A. PREPARATORY ACTIVITIES

1. Prayer

(The teacher will call the prayer leader in front to lead the prayer)
2. Greetings

Good morning, class! nAre you ready for today’s activities?


If you’re ready, say “Yes we are !”
Are you ready, grade 3 ?

3. Checking of Attendance

Before we begin our lesson for today, let’s check our attendance first.

Who’s absent from the boys?


How about for the girls?

4. Classroom Rules

I want you to remember our classroom rules. CLAP (Cleanliness, Loitering is not
allowed, be attentive, and participate in the class)

If you have some questions and clarifications, raise your right hand.

5. Motivation

The teacher will present a song with a musical line and let the children sing with
it as well

Accompany with body movements. Pupils follow the body movements assigned
to each line.

Ask: What do you feel while singing the song with body movements?
Are the movements easy?
Difficult?
Is it more enjoyable to sing the song with or without body movement?

Ask: From the song Sampung mga daliri How many musical lines does this song
have? (3 musical lines)
What is the beginning of the song?

What is the Middle of the song ?

What is the ending of the song?

Say: You can now identify the beginning, middle and ending of the song.

6. Drills

Study the song “sitsiritsit ”. (Show video if applicable.)

A. The teacher reads the lyrics of the song then, pupils will follow.
B. The teacher sings the song then, pupils will follow.
C. The teacher and pupils sing the song. Pupils show active participation during the
activity.
Ask: How many musical lines can you see?

Let the pupils sing the song, let them put their hand below their face in the beginning
of the song or first musical line

let them stomp their feet in the middle part of the song or the middle musical line of
the song.

Then, let the pupils clap for the ending part of the song or the ending musical line of
the song.

C. DEVELOPMENTAL ACTIVITIES

A. Activity ( Differentiated Instruction)

Instruction:

The class will be grouped into 3. In singing Twinkle Twinkle little star
Group [Link] sing the beginning of the song
Group 2 .will sing the middle of the song
Group 3 .will sing the ending
(letting the student sing it in round song)

B. ABSTRACTION (Conclusion or generalization of the topic)

Can you please identify the beginning of the song Twinkle twinkle little star? (teacher
will also include the other songs introduced from the beginning)

How about middle of the song?

And the ending of the song?

C. Application

(The teacher will group the pupils into two groups and give them an activity.)

Instruction: Each group will be given a song. Sing the song and identify the
beginning and ending of the song. When singing the beginning of the song, please
clap your hands. And when singing the ending of the song, I want you to stomp
your feet. Are you ready?

For group 1: Happy Birthday


For group 2: Are you sleeping?

D. Evaluation

Instruction: (Teacher will read the instructions while pupils do it individually.)

E. Assignment

Instruction: Choose your favorite nursery rhymes and practice to sing the song. Next
meeting. You will present it in the front with clapping your hands in the beginning,
