The primary responsibilities of the Teacher-Adviser include monitoring all programs, acting as a mentor in good governance and leadership, overseeing internal and external processes, ensuring academic excellence and holistic welfare, conducting consultations, proposing recommendations, participating and coordinating with Division Youth Formation Coordinators, facilitating the General Program of Action, and submitting reports to the School Head. These duties are to be carried out without additional compensation, as per the interim guidelines .

The interim guideline promotes transparency and accountability by mandating that Teacher-Advisers monitor activities, facilitate consultations, propose improvements, and submit reports for approval. This structure ensures that all activities undergo scrutiny and feedback loops, enhancing transparency and accountability .

Guidelines for ensuring the effectiveness of SELG/SSLG officer roles include conducting regular consultations to gather feedback, and crafting recommendations for improvements. This process allows for continuous assessment and enhancement of both individual performances and overall governance effectiveness .

The Teacher-Adviser must engage in monitoring activities, providing mentorship, conducting consultations, gathering performance feedback, proposing improvements, and facilitating the General Program of Action's crafting. These strategic actions are designed to identify areas for enhancement and drive continuous improvement in efficiency and effectiveness of SELG/SSLG operations .

Considering the Teacher-Adviser role equivalent to one teaching load implies that it is recognized as a significant responsibility requiring time and effort comparable to teaching. This equivalence helps integrate the role within the existing educational workload framework, preventing overlaps and promoting efficient management of duties without needing additional compensation .

The Teacher-Adviser's duties, which include mentoring in good governance, overseeing processes, and ensuring academic excellence, can significantly enhance the leadership skills and holistic development of the Learner Government officers. This fostering of a supportive and structured environment can lead to improved leadership practices and more effective governance within the Learner Government .

The role of the Teacher-Adviser is integrated with existing educational policies, specifically under Republic Act No. 4670, which allows the Advisership to be equivalent to one teaching load, ensuring no additional compensation is required. This alignment with DepEd issuances reinforces structured involvement in the Learner Government activities within the existing educational framework .

The advising framework ensures compliance by structuring the role according to issued memoranda, such as OUOPS Memorandum No. 2023-03, aligning responsibilities with Republic Act No. 4670, and coordinating through formal reporting protocols. This rigorous alignment ensures that the framework supports and adheres to established educational standards and government policies .

The Teacher-Adviser's role supports academic and personal growth by ensuring academic excellence and holistic welfare, mentoring for good governance, and facilitating development through structured feedback and improvement processes. This holistic approach promotes both educational and personal development .

Coordination with Division Youth Formation Coordinators is crucial as it ensures alignment with broader educational objectives and policies, facilitates resource sharing, and supports effective planning and implementation of SELG/SSLG activities across different governance levels. This collaborative approach enhances program consistency and impact .
