Interview Questions Ravyn Howard

Please answer the following questions as you would in an interview. Each questions is worth
2 points for a total of 20 points.

1. What kind of supervisor would you like to work for?

The type of supervisor I would like to work under would be someone with strong leadership,

effective communication skills, the ability to delegate tasks and difficult situations, provide

constructive feedback and create a positive environment.

2. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In 1 year, I plan to have graduated from my second year Industrial, then work towards my red

seal in both Industrial and Residential.

3. What are the most important things you have learned from the jobs you have

previously held?

One of the most important things I have learned from previous jobs is to not be

dependent or rely on others for help.

4. What are your strengths and weaknesses?

I would say my biggest strength would be how I can easily multitask, stay organized and am

very dedicated to being a team player. But I'd say my biggest weakness would be lack of

experience.
5. What skills did you gain in your education that prepared you for employment in this trade?

I would say a main skill I have learned that has prepared me for employment in my trade

would be to be prepared for the worst before it occurs such as accidents and emergencies.

6. What attracted you to this company?

The reason why I chose this company is because of the work they do for the community,

keeping people safe province-wide and also their concern and demand for maintaining a safe

workplace environment for all.

7. How would your coworkers describe you?

My past coworkers would say that I am very cheery and optimistic. I would think they would say

this because I’ve demonstrated how I see setbacks as opportunities to learn and grow. There is

always a creative solution to a problem, no matter what it is, and I genuinely love searching for

it and working with a team to find it.

8. Give an example of a situation where you showed leadership and initiative.

During my studies, I organized a small study group with a few friends from the same course and

led multiple discussions. I also delegated topics for members to review based on their

strengths. This experience helped me further develop my knowledge in my studies, my

leadership skills and provided insights into how to become a better team player.

9. Why did you select this particular field of study?


I personally selected this field of study because of the opportunity my previous program

Women Unlimited has given, being an experience, I will never forget. A workshop in the

Electrical Construction and Industrial shop, filled with inspiration and I knew that's where I

belonged.

10. Give an example of when you set a goal, and were you able to meet it?

An example of a goal I had set for myself and accomplished would be last semester of my

course I had set a goal for myself to receive Honors. And with a little hard work, I managed to

do exactly that.
