Answer all the questions
Part- A (5 X 20 = 100 Marks)
1. a) Construct a parabola when the distance between the focus and directrix is 30 mm. Draw the tangent
and normal at any point on the curve.
(CO1,K6, HOT)
(OR)
b) A circle of 50 mm diameter rolls on a straight line without slipping. Trace the locus of a point P on the
circumference of the circle rolling for one revolution. Name the curve. Draw normal and tangent to the curve
at any point on the curve. (CO1, K6,HOT)
2. a) A straight line of 85 mm long has its one end A is 15mm in front of V.P and 10mm above H.P, while
other end B is 50mm in front of V.P and 45mm above H.P . Draw the plan and elevation of the line.
Determine the inclination of the line to H.P and V.P.
(CO2, K6, HOT)
(OR)
b) Draw the projections of a Hexagon of side 30 mm having one of it’s side in H.P. and inclined at 60
to V.P. and surface inclined at 35 to H.P. (CO2, K6, HOT)
3. a) Draw the projection of pentagonal pyramid of base side 30 mm and altitude 60 mm when its rest on
ground on one of its base edge with its axis inclined at 30o to the ground and parallel to the VP.
(CO3, K6, HOT)
(OR)
b) The pictorial view of object shown in figure. Draw the following views (a) Front view (b) Top view
(C) Left side view. (CO3, K6, HOT)
4.a) A cylinder of base diameter 45 mm and height 65 mm is resting on HP on base. It is cut by a cutting
plane inclined at 30o to HP and perpendicular to VP and meets the axis at a distance 30 mm from the base.
Draw its front view, sectional top view and true shape of section. (CO4, K6, HOT)
(OR)
b) A Hexagonal pyramid of base side 30 mm and altitude 70 mm is resting on HP on its base with side of
base perpendicular to VP. It is cut by a cutting plane inclined at 35 o to HP and perpendicular to VP and is
bisecting the axis. Draw the development of the remaining portion. (CO4, K6, HOT)
5. a) Draw isometric view of a hexagonal prism of base side 30 mm and axis length 70 mm that is resting
on HP on its base with a side of base is parallel to VP. (CO5, K6, HOT)
