Escape Materials
You will need:
- Manila envelopes - Popsicles for prize (optional)
- Paper
- Timer
- Pencils
Setting it up:
- There are 5 tasks, put one in each manila envelope.
Depending on how many groups you have, determines how
many envelopes you need. (I.E. if you have 5 groups you will
need 25 envelopes)
- Print all the materials for each task and put in envelope.
There is a colored version, or Black and white version you
can print.
- Post the task numbers on the board or somewhere for the
entire class to see. Label the crabs and the students can
move their groups crab to the next task once they
completed a task.
- You do not have to use manila envelopes, it just keeps things
organized and together. You can also do this as a whole
group instead of teams. Whatever works best for your
class.
- The object of the game is to have fun and, work together as
a team or class, and help find the crabs way home! You can
choose a prize for your class, or just have the first team
finished win. (A good prize or idea would be to have a
popsicle party afterwardsJ )
Overview
This is an escape game to have
fun and work together There
are 5 tasks in this game. You
can complete less tasks if
needed. Put each task in an
envelope, bag or folder. Once
the task is complete, the
students will move their book
along the path. The first group
to complete the 5 tasks wins
the escape game and gets the
crab home.

Task 2: Students will crack the code.
There are 3 different versions.
Task 3: Students will complete an I
Spy activity.
Task 4: Students will complete a
word scramble. There are two
versions.
Task 5: Students will complete a
maze. There are three versions.
Set up
In each envelope, there is Put each task in a

Help the crab
Find his way back home!
Mr. Crab decided to take a stroll
down the beach to see some of
his friends. As it starts getting
dark, he decides to leave but
can’t find his way back. Help
your team complete the tasks
and find Mr. Crab’s way back
home.
