1. describe the function of skeletal system;

2. draw and recognize and label the skeleton;

3. understand the four different classification of bones and;

4. determine the importance of skeletal system of human body.

Excellent!!

So yesterday we talked about the Muscular system. Now lets talked about skeletal system.

Skeletal System gives the body its basic framework, providing structure, support and protection, allow
movements. Our body is composed of 206 bones (The teacher will show a picture of skeletal System on
the board) the body also produces blood cells, store important minerals, and release hormones
necessary to life.

There are two major types of bones the compact bone and spongy bone or cancellous bone.

Compact bone is hard and dense tissue makes up the outer layer of most bones and the main shaft of
long bones, such as those in the arms and legs. Nerve and blood vessels live inside this tissue.
spongy bone or cancellous bone is made up of smaller plates filled with red bone marrow.

(The teacher will show the picture of Two Major Parts of Bone)

Activity: Reporting

Group yourself into four groups ant report the classification of the Bones. I will give you 5 minutes to
discuss in your group and write it in manila paper.

Group 3 flat bones

Group 4 irregular bones

Make a particle model of the Skeletal system on your own. You may use real bones to show your
