Drag & drop from Device Tree to the Logical Tree ICON
Best practice: Use the buttons to show/hide input and relay contacts for each camera
The Show/Hide tab allows device details to be hidden in the Device Tree.
• This makes it easier to find devices when adding to the Logical Tree
Vs. Drag & drop
to the
Logical Tree ICON

Best practice: Camera Naming
Best practice for naming/renaming in the Logical Tree to help operators identifying the cameras:
• Location indicator e.g. East Wing Corridor 1
• For fixed cameras the direction of the filed of view: e.g. Front Door
• Additional information might be useful: IP-Address, Camera Type: e.g. DinionIP7000 or Flexidome ([Link])
• Do not use special characters when naming cameras!
• However when adding the camera to BVMS device tree or renaming them the special characters are deleted out of the
Names/ID’s.
• The special characters are different in each language. Just try to give a name via BVMS Configuration-Client and the
syntax check will apply automatically.
