A Rainy Day
It is said that God showers His
blessings on earth in the form of rain
and infuses everything and everyone
with delight. So, a rainy day is usually
a pleasant respite from those
unbearable hot, sticky and sultry
days of summer. On such a day, the
clouds in the sky overcast the sun
and sometimes shower cats and dogs
and sometimes they simply drizzle all
the day. The weather on the day is
very pleasant and such weather
works wonders on human senses.
Thus, it fills our heart with a joyous
feeling. It is really a pleasant sight to
see the trees and plants drenched in
rain appearing greener and brighter.
But the daily life of the people is
forced to change to adapt with such
changing weather. As such, they
have to mantle umbrella over head
and clothes to be folded up to knees
while moving outside. Sometimes
water stands on the road and fast
moving vehicles splash dirty water
towards the pedestrians. Such a day
brings relief for the school going
children. Most of them remain at
home playing in door games and
enjoying special delicacy like
Khichuri with fish fry, seasoned
potato and meat curry cooked by
their mothers. But we should show
the darker aspect of a rainy day.
Because such a day does not bring
happy tidings for the working class
people as they can not manage any
daily basis work to earn their bread.
