DHANORA LIMESTONE MINE 4
REPORT ON DEPOSIT MODELING AND RESERVE ESTIMATION

The extent of limestone deposit has been considered up to the lease boundary. The limestone body
has been delineated considering a cut-off-grade of CaO>34%. Although thorough validation has been
carried out on the all samples to remove any abnormal values and duplicates.

The raw data is in the form of spread sheets, surface contours and other information regarding lease
area and mineralized zone in the form of CAD file. The raw data were validated and converted into the
database. Statistical and geostatistical analysis was carried out on the data. Variograms were drawn at
every 15 degrees to find out the continuity in various directions. Down the hole variograms were also
drawn for all four radicals to know the grade continuity in depth. Variogram model fitting was carried
out to work out the variographic parameters. Cross validation has been undertaken to verify the
robustness of the modelled variograms.

The grade estimation was carried out using Inverse Distance method. Samples were selected within
interpreted orebody wireframe for block grade estimation. The resultant block models were validated
through visual checks and sectional validation slices of the model and the drill hole statistics. Model has
been validated to a reasonable level of confidence.

2. LOCATION AND GEOLOGY

2.1 LOCATION & CLIMATE

The lease area lies between the Latitudes 240 42’ 17.35955’’ N & 240 40’ 33.53524’’ N and Longitudes
740 35’ 34.48567’’ E & 740 36’ 22.05517’’ E. The lease area forms a part of the Survey of India Toposheet
No. 45 L/10.

The granted mining lease (255.0032 ha.) is flat with gentle slopes. The maximum and minimum
elevation in the area is 446 mRL to 434 mRL respectively. A nalla runs through the area, entering the
area near pillar “E” and leaving the area between pillar “W-X”. Direction of flow is in N, NE. From this
nalla area gently rises to 442 mRL towards southern side and to 446 mRL on northern side. General
slope of the area is towards eastern side.

The limestone band is almost devoid of vegetation, but weathered limestone and shale produce grey
clayey soil, which is very fertile, and farmers grow cash crops. Main trees are Babool, Mahua, Neem,
Peepal etc. beside shrubs and bushes.

Climate of the area is generally dry except during the SW monsoon season. Dry summer months extends
from March to June and sometimes up to middle of July. Monsoon season lasts for about two months
from mid-July to September or less. Post monsoon season extends up to November and thereafter
winter / cold season continues up to February.

2.2 REGIONAL GEOLOGY

Heron (1917-36) laid the foundation of geology of eastern Vindhayan basin in Rajasthan. Later, it was
revised by Balmiki Prasad (1984). Based on this the generalised stratigraphy succession of the region is
given in table below:

Era Supergroup Group Formation Litho units

Khorip Nimbahera Limestone

Proterozoic Lower Bari shale Shale
Vindhayan Lasrawan Binota shale Shale
Sand Palri shale Shale
Satola Bhagwanpura Dolomite
limestone Limestone
Bhilwara Hindoli Bhadesar Quartzite

Table 1 Regional Geology

Litho units

Bhadesar Quartzite

Quartzite is exposed in the western most part of Regional Mineral Survey (RMS) covered area forming
high rising hill trending north south. It is fine to medium grained, off white color and ferruginous at
places.

Bhagwanpura Limestone

Quartzite in east is followed by Bhagwanpura Limestone. It occurs in low lying area where exposures
are sporadic and mostly the limestone is found concealed under alluvium. It is fine to medium grained
and greyish in colour. Wherever exposed it is highly fractured. As per memoir of Valmiki Prasad the
limestone is siliceous and dolomitic in nature.

Palri shale

Greyish and purplish coloured Palri shale is exposed around village Palri which is extending in North up
to village Dhani and further North.

Binota Shale

The Palri shales are overlain by Binota shale and can be seen in well sections and in nala cuttings. These
have been converted into soil after weathering. These shales lie in contact with Bari shales in eastern
side. General trend of the shale varies from N-S to NE-SW with low eastern dips. This shale is typically
olive green and being stained by brown, pink and purple colour locally and mottled with dark purple at
places.

Bari shale

Bari shale is also known as Nimbahera shale and conformably overlies Binota shales. Generally, it is
trending in N- S direction with low eastern dips. Repetition of shale beds is seen in the area due to
folding. This shale is thinly bedded with thin laminations and showing colour bandings at places. It is

DHANORA LIMESTONE MINE 7
REPORT ON DEPOSIT MODELING AND RESERVE ESTIMATION

typically purple or greenish purple coloured, sometimes also light brown and pale yellow in colour. It is
arenaceous in the lower part and calcareous towards the top. Shale cannot be used as decorative stone.

Nimbahera Limestone

It is named from the town of Nimbahera in Chittorgarh district. It conformably overlies the Bari shale
and has gradational contact at places. It is repeated with the Bari shale due to folding. This is exposed
intermittently for about 3.5 km length in N-S direction with 50 to 200 easterly dips.

It is fined grained, massive, hard compact, regularly jointed, slabby and occurs as thin to thick beds
varying in thickness from 10 cm to over a meter. The limestone is pale, light to dark grey, greenish grey,
pinkish and reddish brown in colour with grey green and red shale partings. It breaks with smooth
surface. The lower brownish limestone generally grades into Bari shale through calcareous shale. The
limestone is suitable for cement manufacturing purpose.

2.3 LOCAL GEOLOGY

Geologically the area comprises Nimbahera limestone belonging to Khorip Group of Vindhayan super
Group. The limestone is trending N-S with 50 to 200 easterly dips. In Dhanora mine area limestone
deposit is bedded form, fine, grained, light grey in colour with thin shale parting along which it can be
splitted. The thickness of beds varies from few inches to feet. The limestone outcrop and the men
feature like boundary walls of agriculture fields, road etc, have been marked.

Description of the rock’s units within the proposed area to be granted:

The sequence of formation exposed in the area is as follows and based on surface exposures and bore
hole logs.

➢ Greenish Grey Limestone with shale partings

➢ Grey limestone
➢ Light Grey Limestone
➢ Dark Grey Limestone
➢ Pink Limestone

Greenish Grey Limestone: The limestone is greenish grey in colour, fine grained and has lot of shale
partings. This band can be used for cement manufacturing by blending with high grade limestone.

Grey Limestone: Above the Light Grey Limestone occurs this massive member and is excellent
limestone for cement manufacture. There are local variations in shades, which at places become darker.
The limestone is fine grained, hard, compact and thick bedded and shows thin shale partings.

Light Grey Limestone: This is the most consistent cement grade limestone band which vary in grades
due to presence of shaly partings and is intruded by pink limestone which enrich the quality of
limestone.

Dark Grey Limestone: This contains irregular and thin and thick lamina of shale generally parallel to
bedding. The shale partings contribute to impurity. These shale partings cannot be removed separately,
and these will be removed along with limestone and will be sent to cement plant.

Technical Report-Resource Modelling

DHANORA LIMESTONE MINE 8
REPORT ON DEPOSIT MODELING AND RESERVE ESTIMATION

Pink / Reddish Limestone: Pink red limestone occurs as an irregular band within the light grey limestone
useful for cement manufacturing. Pink / purple limestone is not a regular band occurs as discontinuous
lenses with in the light grey limestone bands.

Upper part of the deposit has been subjected to intense weathering effect. This has given rise to
unevenly occurring clay pockets all over the deposit. These clay pockets are rich in silica and very poor
in lime.

Structure: The limestone is trending N-S with low of 50 to 200 dips towards eastern side

2.4 EXPLORATION

3. RESOURCE MODELLING

3.1 THE DATABASE

SURPAC uses a relational database model and supports several different types including oracle, paradox
and Microsoft access. A database can contain up to 50 tables and each table can have a max of 60 fields.
A table is created to group like data to store info taken over an interval down the hole or at a point
down the hole.

Three tables are mandatory to the database structure and maintain the data integrity

• Collar table

• Survey table

• Translation table

COLLAR TABLE

This describes the location of the drill hole collar, the maximum depth of the hole and whether a linear
or curved hole trace is to be calculated when retrieving the hole. The field hole_path relates to the
algorithm that is used when drill holes are extracted.

SURVEY TABLE

Drill hole survey information used to calculate the drill hole coordinates. Mandatory fields include,
downhole depth at which the survey was taken, the dip and the azimuth of the hole. y, x and z fields
are used to store the calculated coordinates of each survey.

TRANSLATION TABLE

This table is used for storing character codes. These codes may have a numerical equivalent value if
they are to be applied to a numeric field or may be used to validate input into a character field. The
translation table is used to assist in the translation from some real type representation for data to some
user defined character equivalent.

OPTIONAL TABLES

Geology and Sample tables are defined within the optional tables as an interval table type. The
information is taken over a specified interval down the hole or at a precise point. The interval tables
require the depth at the start of the interval and the depth at the end of the interval, called the
depth_from and depth_to fields respectively.

The samp_id field is a special mandatory field in an interval type table as it may or may not be a key
field. If it is not a key field, then you do not have to store sample numbers. You may choose, however,
when you create a database to make this field a key field. It can be used later for loading data that is
identified only by the sample_id field and the sample value(s) to be loaded.

For our project we have collar & survey data as mandatory, for optional table we have Assay & Litho
file. The spreadsheets have been validated via a secondary manual check that identified and rectified
any initial mistakes. Absent data has been left as blank cells in the input database. During this process
of verification of the input data, a second check for errors such as overlaps, gaps, missing records and

Technical Report-Resource Modelling

DHANORA LIMESTONE MINE 11
REPORT ON DEPOSIT MODELING AND RESERVE ESTIMATION

abnormal values is undertaken. All the errors were removed from the final holes file. Database summary
is as below:

Table Name Data Type Table Type Records

assay interval time-independent 4286
collar 85
geology interval time-independent 425
styles 15
Table 2 DATABASE SUMMARY

Drill hole collar coordinates were plotted in SURPAC and validated by plotting in plan and
section to ensure coordinates have been accurately entered.

The assay values have also been examined for any erroneous high or low values that may
require verification. Any unusual outliers are identified and the same were cross checked with
project personnel and corrected wherever necessary. A report on Database extents produce a
summary of the minimum and maximum north, east, elevation and depth for all the holes in
the collar table of your database plus the number of holes and total length drilled are as below:

3.2 MINERALISATION
The limestone is trending N-S with low of 50 to 200 dips towards eastern side. The drilling follows almost
regular pattern of 200 X 200 m. The average distance between drillholes is between 150 to 200m.

Transverse sections are created within SURPAC using a series of sectional strings oriented at about 90
degrees azimuth. The sectional interpretation is confined to the mineralized zone only. The ore body
has been delineated using a cut-off-grade of 34% CaO. The shale partings, sludge and soil at the top
have been separately delineated in order to exclude from the main mineralisation of limestone. The
figure below shows the locations of the drillholes based on which the orebody has been generated.

Figure 5 Borehole with Ore Body

The orebody sectional interpretation strings have been linked to create a wireframe of the orebody.
For optimal linking between strings, tag strings have been used to achieve the required shape and avoid
crossovers. The wireframes have been closed and the orebody wireframe has been verified within
SURPAC to check overlapping, duplicate or open edges.

3.3 STATISTICAL ANALYSIS

Statistics analysis of the data has been used to provide a better understanding of the deposit and
provide distribution characteristic of the mineralization. The main objective of carrying out statistical
analysis is to get the following information:
- The distribution of the data
- Single or multiple populations,
- Expected ranges of values, detect extreme, possibly erroneous values,
- Interdependence of various radicals, and
- To get early analysis of a deposit and to verify and interpret the sample values available.
Statistical analysis has been carried out considering all the samples within the mineralized body above
a cut-off grade of 34% CaO to know the global characteristic. The analysis has also been carried out for
samples within limestone body above cut off @ 41% CaO. The statistical parameters have been
calculated for all the radicals. Normal Statistics can calculate basic statistics of the data which are stored
in numeric fields in tables in the database. Statistics can be calculated for both untransformed data and
for log transformed data (logarithms taken to base e). The statistics are:

3.3.1 HISTOGRAMS
Histograms have been constructed for all the radicals to know their distribution pattern which helps in
identifying presence of outliers and removing them for better estimations. It can be inferred from the
distribution of CaO, SiO2, Fe2O3, Al2O3 and MgO that these show near normal distributions with CaO
showing a negative skewness whereas other three show a positive skewness.

3.3.2 CORRELATIONS

In order to see the interdependence of one radical over another, correlation study has been carried
out. The correlation study shows that CaO values has negative correlations with all radicals which means
a tendency for large values of CaO to be associated with small values of other radicals and vice versa.

From the correlation matrix, it can be inferred that although SiO2 has positive correlation with Fe2O3
and Al2O3 with a correlation coefficient of above 0.65, this may not be very significant. Scatter plots
have also been created to see the interdependence of these radicals on one another.

3.4 BLOCK MODELLING

An appropriate block model has been generated to fill the orebody wireframe with cells to describe
tonnage as well as grade. The parent block size of 20x20x10 has been chosen. The blocks are orthogonal
and have not been rotated.

Table 8 Block Model Summary

Records in the Block Model are related to blocks. These are cuboid partitions of the modelled
space and are created dynamically according to the operations performed on the Block Model.
Each block contains attributes for each of the properties to be modelled. The properties or
attributes may contain numeric or character string values. Every block is defined by its
geometric centroid and its dimensions in each axis.
All Block Model functions performed with constraints. A constraint is a logical combination of
one or more spatial objects on selected blocks. Objects that may be used in constraints are
plane surfaces, DTM’s, Solids, closed strings and block attribute values.
Block Model Verifications
A careful section by section comparison has been undertaken comparing the estimated blocks
to the original drillhole assay grades. This has been used to identify potential discrepancies
between grades of the estimated blocks and the original drill hole sample data.

3.5 GRADE ESTIMATIONS

The assays radicals have been estimated into the geological block model inverse power of
distance. The Minimum number of samples 3 and maximum number of samples 15 has been
used for primary search volume and second expansion factor has been used for estimation.
The Inverse Distance method of filling a model, allows to interpolate block values based on
the values of the sample points closest to the block centroid. The weighting of the surrounding
samples is calculated based on the inverse of their distance to the block centroid raised to a
specified power.

4. RESERVES
Geological resource evaluation has been done on different criteria. The evaluation has been done on
orebody block model. As already mentioned, the modelling has been done separately for limestone
with a cut-off grade of 41% CaO and marginal zone between 34 to 41% CaO. The two models are
combined to create final ore model.

Top soil in the ultimate pit is in the form of patches and total 7 nos of patches are available and the
summary of the same is as under:
