INTRODUCTION

Career Launcher India Limited (CL) is Asia’s leading education

service provider with presence in over 130 locations across India, Middle East
and the United States. CL provides test-prep education to enable school and
college students gain admission to professional courses. It is also actively
involved in the field of mainstream education, mainly through its growing
network of play schools and secondary schools.

With its focus on the students’ needs, its foundation firmly set on its
Core Values, and technology as a key driver, CL strives to enable people to
realize their potential and make their dreams come true.

Today over 400+ academicians and professionals around the world work
with CL to counsel and groom over 50,000+ students across
130 locations in India, Middle East and the US.

Academic Philosophy

The academic philosophy at CL revolves around its students. Students

come to CL with a dream to achieve an academic goal. The dedicated
counselors and faculty at CL only help them realize their strengths and
weaknesses and chart out a path accordingly to reach their objective. The goal-
setting process forms the core of academic delivery in any CL program. The
faculty at CL work as facilitator rather than a teacher. They mentor, guide and
assist learning. The central research and development team designs and
validates each program with a pilot batch of students before the program is
launched in CL.

~2~
The study material is prepared and continually updated in-house at the
Phi Lab applying Instructional Design theories. In a typical academic year,
highly qualified subject experts put in over 30,000 hours of work, refer to over
1000 books and more than 70,000 pages of content and create distinct
copyrighted content for the various programs of CL.

Our expert mentors and faculty are qualified engineers, eminent

professors, PhDs and management graduates from prestigious institutes such as
IITs, IIMs, NITs and other top-notch universities. They continue to go through
rigorous training, brainstorming and analysis sessions at our training school -
the Inner Circle. They challenge themselves by taking various entrance
examinations each year.

Success Mantra

At CL we believe that students succeed singularly because of their own

efforts. CL only mentors its students and provides them with a learning
environment to bring out the winner in them. The inputs from CL remaining
the same for each student, success depends on the aspiration, tenacity and
perseverance at the individual level.

Mentoring@CL

Mentoring is a process integral

to the existence of CL. Experienced
mentors counsel the students at CL,
help them set goals, review and track
progress and guide them accordingly.
The mentors at CL are reachable round
the clock and are ever ready to help
their students in every aspect.

Career Launcher, in its quest to democratize quality education, found it
only natural to extend its reach to the rural, underprivileged section of our
society. The future of our nation depends greatly upon the education of today's
children, and with a vast section of our society existing below the poverty line;
it becomes imperative to take an initiative that effectively disseminates quality
education at a reasonable cost.

With its 'Bottom of Pyramid' schools, Career Launcher is looking to

carry forward such an initiative. These schools especially address the
educational needs of our underprivileged children, function with the dual
objectives of maintaining standards of 'excellence' along with widespread
'access'.

Career Launcher has initiated 10 BoP schools, in Andhra Pradesh, as its

pilot project. Based on the learnings from these schools, Career Launcher will
go on to establish an ever widening web of BoP schools all over our nation.

On the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, a blood donation

camp was organized at the Career Launcher Corporate Office in Okhla,
New Delhi.

The camp was conducted in association with the AIIMS Trauma centre.
More than 50 employees of Career Launcher donated blood on this occasion.
Amongst the key donors were Satya - Chairman of Career Launcher,
Gautam Puri - Vice Chairman, and the Directors and other employees of
the organisation.

This was the first of the 120+ blood donation camps that Career
Launcher plans to organize at all the locations where it is present in India. This
is an initiative towards "Builiding India" involving the youth of the nation.
Career Launcher intends to make this an annual property towards its efforts in
Building the Nation.

Introduction

How times change! The education sector and its allied industries are
witnessing an unprecedented era of growth…seemingly everlasting. As we stand in
the third millennium, the education sector promises rich rewards – both monetary and
social – to those willing to take the plunge. A general consensus exists in the people
of this nation that the only viable solution to our problems lies in sustained
investment in HR and education. The portals of higher education in India are open to
students who fare well in stringent competitive tests. This leads to stiff competition
among lacks of students and this is where organized players like PT step in to add
value to students' preparations. Our value proposition is distinct and clear. And the
present line of operations gives PT ample leverage to move into allied areas of
education. Many plans have already been drawn up for the same.

Courses

Our core competence – so far – lies in the area of System Design and
Development of various classroom and online courses. For example, as of now we
have our flagship brands in the area of MBA Entrance, MCA Entrance, MMS, and
Personality Development. Today, we can say that our courseware for MBA
Entrance and MCA Entrance is undoubtedly the best in India. Starting from this
sound base, slowly but surely, we are now developing expertise in a lot of new areas
which have high growth potential. Courses like and School Education are a part of PT
bouquet, and are growing rapidly.

The specialty of PT courses is the fact that they are extremely well-researched
and innovative by nature. In short, academic excellence coupled with a fine nose for

~14~
students' needs is what we keep in mind always. Research and development form the
axis around which PT's efforts are structured.

Activities

PT strongly believes that the students who join its classroom / online / postal
courses must be exposed to a whole new environment that encompasses a universe of
experience for the young souls. Thus, apart from the basic classroom training that we
excel in, we provide a series of experiences like.....

Regular Career Seminars … attended by thousands

PDP Inputs … start from first week of classroom training

Library Facility … come, sit and Read !

GK Inputs … Open up your minds !

Food for Thought … Regularly in the classroom

Interaction with Successful Ex-PT Students...is enlightening indeed!

Career Counseling … always available from the best faculty.

Doubts Clearing etc.

POWERPACK FINAL …to give that extra push when the calls start pouring in.

Lots of short-cuts, test-smarts …. so essential for your success at the final stage

This ensures a holistic development of a student's outlook towards his career

in specific, and life in general. The entire PT network is geared to serve this noble
purpose.

PT network & systems

PT is headquartered at Indore in Madhya Pradesh. At Indore, we have our

Regd. Office building at Yeshwant Plaza, Opp Railway Station. This is a most

~15~
modern construction with state-of-the-art classrooms and centralized administration
area. This acts as an anchor point at a prime commercial zone. PT has all the modern
pedagogical tools like OHP, Glassboards, Multimedia Projectors etc. We have a well-
stocked library for the ready-reference of our students. And of course, we have a
prime presence on the Internet too.

Our state of the art corporate offices is at Delhi and three regional offices
are at Ahmedabad, Bangalore & Pune. These are state of the art offices with all
modern amenities and a professional ambience, that is both stimulating and
challenging. Our Delhi corporate office is located at Naurang House, 21 [Link],
New Delhi. It acts as a prime contact point of PT with its strategic partners and as a
central resource procurement hub for HR and best practices. Our Pune Regional office
is located at Srinath Plaza, Gyaneshwar Paduka Chowk, [Link], Pune. It is the hub
for our developmental push into Maharashtra and especially Mumbai.

Our entire workflow at the Headquarters and Corporate Offices is neatly

structured along functional lines. The Knowledge Resources Group ( KRG )
handles all courses related development needs. Headed by the Team Leader, the KRG
is the repository of knowledge and resources needed for products and services of PT.
The Network Development Group ( NDG ) handles network expansion and support
needs. Headed by the Team Leader, the NDG reaches out to potential franchisees and
business partners across India. The Information Technology Group ( ITG ) handles
all information management needs of the group. The head of the ITG ensures a
constant streamlining of the basic IT resources needed to run the show smoothly. The
human resources and training needs of the group are handled by the Human
Resources Group ( HRG ). Constant training and recruitment are the key tasks of the
head of HRG. The Brand
Management Group (BMG) handles
marketing and sales for Group PT. The
entire printing and logistics of
materials is handled by Printing and
Despatch Group ( PDG ). These
groups are staffed by dedicated and
intelligent professional workers who

~16~
ensure that their contribution to the whole cause is second to none! Our organizational
structure is very flat, with informal communication encouraged at all levels to ensure
that the best ideas float to the top.

We have spread our wings substantially by establishing a chain of franchisee

all over India. We already have a chain of 80 (at the last count) high caliber
franchisee and channel partners with qualifications from top institutes and valuable
experience in a variety of fields. The PT Franchisee Programs based on the proven
and trusted concept of Business Format franchising. We believe in an open,
committed and transparent relationship with our Business Partners because after all,
their success, our success and the success of our students and clients are inextricably
linked.

Our strengths are our totally professional, result oriented approach and our
carefully and painstakingly designed training systems which are fine tuned to
produce results in the toughest of competitive exams. PT centres are spread across
the length and breadth of this country. From Chandigarh and Delhi in the North to
Ahmedabad and Baroda in the West … Varanasi in the East to Bangalore and
Coimbatore in the South! All this has been achieved in the amazingly short period.
The network of PT franchisees is one of the best of its kind to be found anywhere in
the country. Extremely dedicated, talented and qualified, the PT franchisees have
been instrumental in spreading the PT vision across the country. We expect to be
more than 100 within 2 years at the most. Once again, we do not necessarily
believe in the indispensability of academic qualifications for a talented individual to
be our franchisee.

The network operations are managed by a team of dedicated experts stationed

at the PT HQ who conceptualize, develop, maintain and audit the entire franchisee
operations. Daily and weekly follow-ups on critical operational issues keep the
system well-oiled and smoothly running. Stringent audit standards are supplemented
with insightful suggestions for process improvement.

A new franchisee's entry into the PT system is a series of carefully guided

steps that familiarizes him to the various facets of the PT philosophy and business. It
is, at times, amazing to see how the new franchisees learn the ropes rapidly and

~17~
translate that into real life results. The franchisees also get pleasantly surprised to see
how quickly their suggestions are implemented and “knowledge” disseminated, across
the network. PT's professional and highly systematic approach to network
management is the prime reason for its rapid growth and continued success.

The problem of ensuring similar levels of quality in operations across the

country is addressed through intensive training programmes. PT franchisees and
faculty across the country necessarily undergo a rigorous orientation cum training
programme at the PT HQ to prepare them for the battle ahead. The PT system ensures
a regular support to all its centers through email and the website, rather than leaving
them to their own. This, as the PT franchisees unanimously agree, is one of the best
features of the PT network management policy.

The desire to serve our customers – students as well as franchisees – better, is

best reflected in the masterpiece document called the “PT Operations Manual”
which covers each and every facet of the PT operations. We proudly say that this is
the industry standard! PT envisages that by the year 2020, its network of centers
would be spread in several countries, providing cutting edge quality education to
thousands of self-disciplined, motivated young students.

Management policies

PT strongly believes that there is no shortcut to success at all in this

competitive world. Thus its entire team of faculty members, administrators,
counselors, office staff, support staff and others are constantly motivated and trained
to excel beyond their normal limits.

To put it briefly, we strongly believe in values like

“Focus on the student”

“Make work fun”

“Stretch”

“Play it hard, Play it fast”

~18~
“No-nonsense Professionalism”

“Global Vision”

“Detailing”

“Discipline flows from the top”

No doubt, it shows! Our blistering growth over the past 17 years across the
length and breadth of this country is a result of our firm commitment to the above
mentioned values. Our Recruitment Policies are designed to get the best talent
available and provide them extremely challengingly task that bring out the best in
them. Skill upgradation and motivational programs are a regular feature at PT. We
strongly believe in long lasting relationships.

Key people

It is the people of an organization that make it. Without them it is nothing

but brick and mortar, but with them it is a living entity.

The people at PT are special…. VERY special. Each one of them brings with
him/her a unique set of skills and flavour to the organization as a whole. These are the
people who work day-in and day-out to make PT education a splendid success, which
in turn is a legacy which is passed on to its students.

Today PT boasts of a nationwide team of more than 500+ individuals with

more than 100 at the HQ, working relentlessly in pursuit of perfection. The current
top team includes: Mr. Sandeep Manudhane (Chairman and Managing Director), Mr.
Manish Saraf (Chief Operating Officer), Mr. Prakash Wohra (Chief Auditor) among
others.

MBA an introduction

MBA - Master in Business Administration - is a two-year post-graduate

course. An MBA from a good institute is commonly recognized as a passport to a
lucrative career. The quantum and variety of jobs open to you armed with a
qualification like MBA, are, needless to say, unlimited.

With the increasing opening up and liberalization of the Indian economy, and with
globalization gaining a steady and mature momentum, MBA has not only positioned
itself as one of the most preferred career choices, but has also become one of the most
respected careers. The increasing demand for quality managers, both in India and
abroad, has been a trigger for the need to do an MBA. For most young people, it
happens to be the numero uno career option.

The tremendous growth in demand for an MBA degree is now leading to

severe competition for the relatively few seats in top institutes (the 6 IIMs, XLRI,
FMS, IIFT, Symbiosis, IRMA, NITIE, SP Jain and so on). As seen over the years,
lakhs of students aspire to get into a good B-School every year ... they are competing
for a few thousand seats.

~20~
Believe in yourself ! This could very well be the very first step to ensure that
you are one of the few to get through this severe competition and emerge victorious in
a race that is considered widely as a mark of calibre.

The next step is obvious. Regular practice and reinforcing of fundamentals. It

translates into at least 4 to 6 months of consistent practice to convert your dreams into
reality.

The term MBA is now used as a generic brand. Most of the students joining
various B-schools today get different qualifications. To name a few

Cyclical corrections in placement quality is a reality of life. Live with it.

MBAs as it helps them carry out creative work in a professional manner. People with
a whacky, progressive and creative bent of mind are fit for this career. As a
specialisation within Marketing, this is a unique career choice for those who wish to
communicate and make their mark.

International business

The Indian Government embraced globalization, and this specialization saw an

unprecedented boom. The government's policy thrust on exports and a forward
looking mindset makes a career in International Business rewarding and promising.
As WTO realities take root, MBA with IB will open up new vistas for young
management graduates.

Telecom management

Technology convergence has brought the computer and telecom industries

together, giving a massive boost to employment opportunities. The rapid
developments in Indian telecom sector have paved the path for a robust domestic
growth process on lines of the Western World. Expect more jobs, more careers!

Placement scenario

Entrepreneurship

The joy of creation knows no bounds. More so with wealth creation. While
traditional over-the-roof salary jobs take away the best talent from leading b-schools,
the adventurous souls strike out on their own, creating empires that are limited only
by their imagination. Enterpreneurs are people who create jobs, not merely hold one.
An MBA can help you become one.

If you have already started wondering about what you can expect after this
grind, then read on. Best of the corporates from around the world come to B-schools
to recruit the best. An indicative list of various companies is given here.

The quality of final placements is the ultimate statement of a B-school's reach,

calibre, and intellectual property acceptance in the corridors of corporate power.

Post 1991, the tremendous improvement and change in the quality of

placements from the Indian b-school campuses was a dream come true for a whole
generation of upwardly mobile young Indians. The trend has continued ever since,
and terms like “global placements,” “dollar salaries” and “multinational careers” have
become commonplace.

Booms and busts are part of every economic cycle. The B-schools are also not
untouched by the vagaries of international economic trends. While the placements a
couple of seasons ago were a dream to write home about, a series of events has
ensured that the placement season this year at the best B-schools is a sane affair.
There are companies and there are jobs, but the wild hype and hoopla is

~26~
conspicuously absent. It seems that sanity has returned to the campuses with
placements being more realistic, in tune with actual market realities.

What does all this mean, as far as an MBA aspirant is concerned ?

Cyclical corrections in placement quality is a reality of life. Live with it.

“Salaries” do not fall. The rate of growth may go down.

Global placements happen regularly, at the best campuses.

Some candidates may go jobless because they may choose not to accept offers from
companies coming to the campuses.

All said and done, despite the global recession seen across the industries, the
career prospects for MBAs remain bright.

Attitude matters

As is said “It’s the Attitude, not only the Aptitude, that decides your Altitude.”
Most of the tests happen to be manageable, but it’s all about how you tackle them.
It’s the competition and the pressure that makes the difference. If you have the right
focus and are ready to put in consistent efforts, you can definitely BELL the CAT.

As Vivekananda said “Believe in yourself and the world would be at your

feet.” A few points to remember for the sincere aspirant

Have a positive approach

Keep in mind that you can do it, and this mantra will certainly bring positive
changes in you. Do not look back, you are not going that way.

Focus on the goal

Keep a sharp focus in your mind on what you want to do. Break apart a big
goal into smaller goals, and keep accomplishing these smaller goals in short periods.
You'll see for yourself that the big goal is within your reach.

~27~
Work on communication skills

It does not matter that how much you speak in GDs or Interview. The
differentiator here is how well you convey your ideas to the group or to the
interviewer.

Develop diverse reading habits

It really helps while solving RC passages. It works in two different ways -

first, awareness of diversity of topics, and secondly - the big reason - developing a
good reading speed.

Work on your body language

Body language is the subtle and silent indicator of your persona. A negative
body language can destroy the chances of an otherwise intelligent person.

Broaden your horizons

Start thinking with an open mind. Just as we can't see with closed eyes and
can't hear with closed ears, similarly we can't think without an open mind.

Developing the right interests

Start today. Develop good habits like reading diverse topics, doing mental
calculations, developing good communication skills, developing creativity etc.

Out of the box approach

Your approach while attempting the test must be good enough to crack the
test. Remember that if you think that next week you are going to appear for some
other test, you are certainly not going to crack the test you are taking today.

Time management will remain the key

Always apply the S-S-S-S approach, i.e., the Scan-Search-Select-Solve

approach. Quickly scan the test paper, Search for easy questions, Select easier ones

~28~
and Solve them. Do not get stuck at a difficult question as it would cost you dearly.
Solve easy questions first and only then move on to the difficult ones.

Set up in 1992 at Hyderabad, Triumphant Institute of Management
Education (T.I.M.E.) provides professional entrance training for all-India level
entrance exams for management and engineering such as CAT, IIT-JEE,
NIMCET and AIEEE along with regional exams such as ICET and
Maharashtra CET. The founders comprised two IIM pass outs and one alumnus
of XLRI, Jamshedpur, known as Manek Daruval, Pramod Kumar and P.
Viswanath.

The three geniuses developed their very own training programme that
exhibited good results right from the time it was implemented. TIME has a
good track record of helping its students to gain access to IIMs and other
reputed Indian B-schools successfully. The institute now has several centres in
Hyderabad and its branches have also been established in other cities. Today,
the faculty of the institute includes several more experienced and qualified
Training and Management professionals and some of the institute's strong
points are quality course material, constant innovation, excellent classroom
teaching and careful evaluation.

Structured on corporate model, TIME has developed itself into a

specialist multi-programme training provided with its presence in several
locations. Rapidly growing as an organisation, the training portfolio at TIME
has expanded to include GRE, GMA and TOEFL iBT training. The total full-
time staff currently working for Triumphant Institute of Management
Education counts up to 900, including faculty members, research team,
administrative, management and marketing staff. In the year 2006-07, the

~40~
brand turnover of TIME institute has been Rs 100 crores and in the last five
years, it has exhibited the CAGR rate of over 60%.

IIT-JEE training programmes were launched recently in 2006 and

exhibited excellent results in the first year. Validated by KPMG, 105 TIME
students cracked IIT-JEE successfully while three students secured good ranks
that were below 100. Besides classroom courses, TIME also offers
correspondence courses for IIT preparation, CAT, GRE, TOEFL, AIEEE and
state-level engineering and medical entrance examinations. These courses have
been designed carefully to ensure that they provide adequate material and
practice to the students and help them to derive benefit from remote locations,
allowing them to study at their own conveniences.

T.I.M.E.

Three management graduates – two of them from IIM, Ahmedabad and

the third from XLRI, Jamshedpur, envisioned an opportunity in Professional
Entrance Training for CAT exams to qualify for admission to IIMs – India’s
most reputed and among the world’s best B-Schools. They went on to set up a
training institute – Triumphant Institute of Management Education (T.I.M.E.)
in 1992 at Hyderabad.

An indigenously developed training programme they formulated started

bringing in the results. Recognition followed with more and more students
from T.I.M.E. making it into the IIMs and other reputed B-Schools across the
country.

However Manek Daruvala, Pramod Kumar and P. Viswanath – the

entrepreneur trio didn’t stop there. They established more centres at Hyderabad
and gradually moved into other cities, responding positively to the trends that
emerged. More professionals – qualified and experienced in Training and
Management, joined the T.I.M.E. team and its faculty ensuring quality with
growth. Constant innovation, excellent classroom teaching, quality course

~41~
material, and careful evaluation have brought about excellent results year after
year.

In just a decade and a half, T.I.M.E. has grown into a specialist, multi-
location, multi-programme training provider running on corporate lines.

At T.I.M.E. we believe in letting our results do the talking. Last year

students who were part of our flagship program and were training for the CAT,
performed impressively with 1000 students making it to the IIMs. These results
have also been validated by KPMG, an independent, internationally reputed
audit firm.

With 200 offices in 104 cities across the country, T.I.M.E. today is truly
pan-national, but with a local focus as well. While T.I.M.E. offers training for
national level exams like the CAT, NIMCET, IIT-JEE, AIEEE, etc., it also
caters to local needs with training for exams like the ICET in Andhra Pradesh,
the Maharashtra CET, and other local exams in different states. T.I.M.E. also
offers training for international tests such as the GRE® test, the GMAT ® and
the TOEFL® iBT.

Besides an expansion in its product portfolio, the company has also

grown as an organization. Today T.I.M.E. has over 2000 full-time employees
(including those employed by its franchisees) in its Faculty, Research,
Management, Marketing & Admin teams.

Financially, the last few years have been rewarding. T.I.M.E. achieved
an impressive brand turnover of Rs. 200 Crores and has been growing at a
CAGR of over 55% for the last 5 years.

In the emerging role that India is playing in providing high skill work
force, the demand from professional institutes is bound to grow. This will add
impetus to the emerging industry segment of professional entrance exam
training.

~42~
The T.I.M.E. centres across the country are managed and run by highly
qualified professionals - a number of them from top management institutes like
the IIMs/XLRI. For all these professionals, education is something that is very

What T.I.M.E. offers for IIT-Foundation

T.I.M.E. offers a course for students of 7 th, 8th, 9th,and 10th classes
called IIT-FOUNDATION programme. The course covers the areas of
Maths,Physics and Chemistry. We also offer reasoning and Basics
Communication Skills classes as a part of the course for 7 th, 8th and 9th classes.
Our course and tests are designed in a way that inculcates the habit of
application of concepts thereby paving way for effective learning.

 Objectives of our IIT-Foundation Course

 Course Material

 Course Methodology

 Class Room Based Inputs

Objectives of the IIT-Foundation course are:

 The objective of this course is to make the students understand and

master basic concepts in the subjects of Mathematics, Physics and
Chemistry.

 The focus will be on encouraging students to apply the concepts learnt

to real-life situations. The programme will encourage school goers to
look beyond textbooks for learning.

 The IIT-Foundation programme will not only help children understand

better what is taught in regular school classes, and hence do well in
board exams but will also help them develop the acumen which will
give them a distinctive edge over the rest of their peers.

 The programme also grooms children by providing inputs on Reasoning

skills, Speed Maths, and Communication Skills.

~52~
Course Material:

 For each class we provide the following books

o 2 Study Material Booklets and 2 Work Books in Mathematics

o 2 Study Material Booklets and 2 Work Books in Physics

o 2 Study Material Booklets and 2 Work Books in Chemistry

 Regular Tests are conducted – The tests include Chapter wise Tests,
Cummulative Tests and Model Tests.

 For each of 7th, 8th and 9th classes, a reasoning booklet will be provided.
Apart from the booklet about 10 handouts based on different areas will
be given.

Course Methodology:

1- Course methodology is aimed at helping the students understand the

concepts thoroughly.

2- It helps them develop a logical approach to Maths, Physics and

Chemistry, for more effective learning.

3- It lays stress on application of concepts. What we mean by this could

be demonstrated through some examples –

How a does a kingfisher catch fish?

I. The kingfisher flies vertically over the position of the fish, and then
dives into the water at a 90 Degree angle. The concept here is that the
normally incident rays do not undergo refraction, hence the fish lies
exactly where it appears to be. At any other angle, the apparent location
of the fish would be different from its real location.

~53~
II. Why do we normally swing our arms while walking, and why not
when we carry a load in our hands? The center of gravity of a body
depends on the distribution of mass in the body. As we walk, the
movement of the legs tends to cause a shift in the centre of gravity. To
compensate for this shift we swing our arms. When we are carrying a
load in the hands, however, the effective C.G is lower, making it easier
to maintain balance.

III. Why does salt become damp when kept exposed during the rainy
season and not when kept exposed during summer?

IV. In the rainy season humidity in the atmosphere is very high i.e.
there is a lot of moisture in the atmosphere. Thus, calcium chloride, an
impurity present in the common salt, absorbs this moisture and makes
the salt damp. In summer, however, as the temperature is high, calcium
chloride tends to lose moisture through the process of evaporation, and
the salt is left free-flowing.

V. The syllabus has a comprehensive coverage of Maths, Physics and

Chemistry encompassing the syllabi of the major boards (State, CBSE
and ICSE). All areas will be covered in full, and not the areas of
intersection alone. The whole idea is that a State Board student should
be able to answer a CBSE question and vice-versa.

Class Room Based Inputs:

Each topic is dealt with in three modules

 Basic Module

 Exercise Module

 Testing Module

~54~
Basic Module

The objective of this module is to develop a thorough understanding of

the concepts. This is done with the help of our study material. The faculty
member introduces the basic concepts to the students with the help of solved
examples that are given in our study material. The faculty member ensures that
the concepts are delivered in such a manner that all the students in the class are
able to follow the subject. The examples in the study material consists of
objective questions, short answer questions and also essay type questions. The
objective type of questions include Fill in the blanks, Match the following,
True or False and Multiple Choice questions.

The questions provided in the examples are followed by appropriate

solutions. With the help of the given solutions, the student can develop a fair
idea as to how to present the solution for a question in the examination.

Exercise Module

The objective of this module is to understand the application of

concepts. The lessons in this module are taught using Work Books (WB). The
work books are a collection of exercises. The exercises are a mixture of
objective and descriptive questions. The students are expected to solve the
questions in the exercises before they come to exercise class. In the exercise
class the faculty member discusses all the problems and also analyses the
methods that have been adopted by the studnets to arrive at the solution.

Each chapter consists of two types of questions: BEQs and CAQs

(Board Exam Questions, BEQ) and (Concept Application Questions, CAQ)
BEQ are designed to cater to the kind of direct questions that will help the
students get feel of the questions that they generally face in their school
examinations. BEQs are further divided into two types of Exercises:

~55~
Exercise 1 consists of short answer questions. These questions need to
be answered in two-three sentences. About 10 questions are given in this
exercise. Exercise 2 consists of long answer questions. About 5 questions are
given in this Exercise.

These exercises are given for the home assignment. Students are expected
to submit these exercises. The plan for this assignment will be given in the
class by the faculty member. Concept Application Questions (CAQs)

The objective of providing CAQs is to encourage the students to apply

the concepts learned in the basics class. There are application based descriptive
type of questions (to prompt curiosity and the desire to gather ideas). There will
be one exercise for the CAQs. After the discussion of the various concepts of
the topic, one class will be provided for the discussion of CAQs.

Apart from the above mentioned exercises, At the end of each book a
collection of questions from all the chapters will be given. These questions are
used to develop the Advance Logical Thinking and Analytical Skills of the
students. (ALTAS) Testing Module

The objective of this module is to test the students’ grasp of concepts

that have been taught in the class. The basic difference between the exercise
module and the testing module is that the exercises would have no time limit,
while test papers will have a time limit. The duration of each test class is 2
hours.

The testing module will include three types of tests

1. Topic wise tests

2. Cumulative tests

3. Model Papers

Innovation is shown through the continuous development of new training programs, validated success through KPMG, and an expansion into both national and international exam preparation . Their CAT training program has consistently sent a significant number of students to the IIMs, demonstrating their effective training methodology .

PT ensures the quality and effectiveness of its training programs by providing cutting-edge, comprehensive, and scientifically-designed courseware developed by a team of highly qualified professionals . PT offers its franchisees extensive operational support through the PT Operations Manual, which is considered the 'Industry Standard' . This manual includes systems for handling enquiries, registration, fee collection, advertising, and materials management. PT also provides new software, PT-Prabandhan, to streamline operations.
